- A suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of raping and kidnapping a 25-year-old woman in Arcadia.
The suspect, identified as Philippe Lutete, 29, was currently out on bond for a similar arrest.
He is said to have abducted the woman around 3 a.m. while she was walking near Longden Avenue and Peck Road by an ARCO gas station. He grabbed the victim and took her into his car, according to authorities.
She was then taken to his home in the 2800 block of Fairgreen Avenue where he continuously raped her, authorities said. The woman managed to escape and briefly spoke to a neighbor before the suspect dragged her back into his home.
The neighbor then called 911 after hearing the woman scream for help. When deputies arrived around 2 p.m., the suspect fled the scene through a side window.
Philippe Lutete, 29, was arrested for kidnap and rape Wednesday, April 8, 2015.

Firefighters found a Mercedes sedan overturned and engulfed in flames. The three occupants, 17 year-old males, suffered minor injuries, and at least one was seen being transported by LAFD. A neighbor at the scene said that there are many crashes on this street and that he heard cars "racing" right before the crash occurred. One of the occupants of the car became aggressive towards neighbors at the scene when they confronted him about speeding.

- West Covina fire department responded to the 1500 block of E Maplegrove street at about 12:40am to find a house well involved and the neighboring house starting to catch fire. A neighbor said off camera that he came outside to have a cigarette and saw flames coming from a house just down the street, He ran down there and banged on the door to wake the occupants up. All occupants managed to get out safely and there were no injuries to anyone. The fire was knocked down by 1:30am.

- Two car theft suspects jumped into a Baldwin Park wash at the end of a police chase. Police had to fish the men out of the water before arresting them.
According to authorities, the two men stole a car and led officers on a pursuit that started around 2:35 a.m. Saturday near Ramona Boulevard and Durfee Avenue in El Monte.
The chase lasted about five minutes before coming to an end near Francisquito Avenue and the 10 Freeway in Baldwin Park, where the suspects crashed into a tree.
They then tried to evade officers by jumping into the nearby wash. Both men suffered unknown injuries.
No weapons were found at the scene. The suspects were taken into custody.

- Two suspects were taken into custody after they allegedly tried to rob a convenience store, led police on a pursuit and crashed into a house in Glendora.
According to police, it started shortly after midnight Saturday when a man attempted to rob a Mobile gas station.
Authorities said the suspect pointed a gun at a clerk working inside the gas station's convenience store. The clerk tackled the suspect, and the two struggled until the suspect fled the scene.
Investigators said the suspect ran across the street and jumped into a getaway car which was driven by another person.
The clerk flagged down an officer who just happened to be driving by. A brief pursuit ensued until the suspects crashed their car into a vacant home on Grand Avenue and Armstead Street.
One suspect suffered minor injuries in the crash. He was transported to a hospital.
The clerk was not injured.

The crash was about two miles north of Pacific Coast Highway at 12:10 a.m., Los Angeles County Fire Department Supervisor Robert Diaz said.
``When (search and rescue) team members arrived, they saw the vehicle had launched over 200 feet from the roadway into the canyon and was virtually destroyed,'' said Sgt. On October 30, 2014, Hollenbeck Area Gang Detectives identified Jorge Trejo, as a suspect involved in an assault with a deadly weapon investigation where a pocket knife and a shotgun were involved. Detectives prepared a Crime Alert notification, which included a description of the suspect and his vehicle and distributed it to Hollenbeck Patrol and Gang Detail officers.
On November 8, 2014, around 11:50 p.m., Hollenbeck patrol officers observed Trejo driving a blue Mazda pickup truck in the area of Avenue 26 and North Figueroa Street. Officers attempted to stop Trejo but Trejo failed to yield and a vehicle pursuit was initiated. Additional Hollenbeck officers joined the pursuit.

On unzipping the man's shoulder bag, which had been thrown 30ft in the collision, they discovered an alive 3ft Ball Python curled up in the front pocket. - Written by City News Service: A naked man was coaxed out of a crawlspace beneath a Sherman Oaks apartment building today, and then firefighters took him to a hospital to be examined.
Urban Search & Rescue personnel were summoned by Los Angeles police at around 10:45 a.m. to the 14900 block of Dickens Street for what was termed a ``behavioral emergency,'' according to Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The man was coaxed out and taken to a hospital in an ambulance with police on board as a precaution, Humphrey said.
He appeared to be in his mid-20s, according to ABC7, which reported that residents called police after seeing the naked man in the neighborhood.

Los Angeles police shot an armed man at Universal CityWalk today, police said.
North Hollywood officers responded to a disturbance call at 1:15 a.m. at a part of Universal CityWalk patrolled by the Los Angeles Police Department, said Officer Drake Madison of LAPD Media Relations.
``When they got there they saw a large group and heard gunfire in a large crowd,'' Madison said. ``They saw a male suspect with a handgun and that's when the officer-involved shooting occurred.''
``The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene and a handgun was recovered at the scene,'' he said.
Two people were transported to hospitals, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Miguel Ornelas.
The shooting stemmed from a fight that broke out at the Infusion Lounge.
