A hot day with sunny spells following clearing storms across much of the UK, though outbreaks of heavy, thundery rain will continue, moving northwards bringing local downpours, gusty winds and hail. This evening stays very warm and humid, with further thundery showers continuing in places further north, while southern areas gradually see conditions improving.

A very warm and humid night with some clearer spells in the east, but heavy showers and thunderstorms in the southwest, these spreading northwards overnight, bringing intense downpours and strong gusts. Thunderstorms are also forecast for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Tomorrow will be hot again, especially in the east with temperatures into the high 30s, while the west turns fresher.
