- The government’s delay in publishing the Defence Investment Plan (DIP) has undermined the UK's credibility with its allies and its ability to provide a stronger deterrent to its adversaries, say MPs.
In a report into the Ministry of Defence’s 2024-25 accounts, the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of MPs warned that the long delay to the DIP risks squandering the opportunities provided by advances in technology, hindering the government’s attempts to modernise the Armed Forces.
The DIP, which was originally due last year, may now not be published until July, shortly before a NATO summit.
Former Conservative Education Secretary Gillian Keegan and Daily Mirror Columnist Kevin Maguire join Susanna Reid and Ed Balls to discuss the day's news.

- Around two pubs closed each day in the first three months of the year amid pressure from higher taxes and regulatory costs. The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA) warned that 161 pubs closed across Britain in the first quarter of the year.
This equates to the loss of around 2,400 jobs, with a particular hit to younger workers. It represents a 26% jump in closures compared to the same period last year, with local pubs having come under pressure from rising labour costs, taxes and caution among consumers.
Early this year, the government announced business rates support for pubs after warnings from the sector that further tax changes could lead to more closures and job losses.
Last week, Sir Keir Starmer calls for pubs to be permitted to serve 'pavement pints' throughout the men's World Cup.
And, Prince William called for the protection of Britain’s pubs, making the call during a visit to the aptly named 'Prince of Peckham' in So...

Princess Beatrice and Eugenie have their rent paid for them by their uncle, King Charles.
The King pays it from his private income, which means the sisters don't pay any money themselves, despite having jobs and not being working members of the Royal Family.

- An online game ranking boys on their appearance is contributing to young men taking drastic measures to change their looks.
It's part of a trend known as 'looksmaxxing'.
The game called Omoggle pits random strangers against each other, using AI scans to rank them on their attractiveness in what's known as 'mogging' - with one user declared the winner.
A spokesperson for Omoggle said it is "meant as a bit of fun, not a verdict on anyone's appearance", adding it takes "user safety seriously" and is restricting access in the UK and has "no affiliation with the manosphere".
Dr Michael Mrozinski, who has done extensive work looking at this and Baroness Kidron, who campaigns for childrens' rights online joined Ranvir and Kate in the studio.

Christi was incorrectly named by AI chatbot Grok after it found an old social media post from the force.
Christi detailed some of the comments she faced including calls for her to die.
Hampshire Constabulary in response said "We know there has been significant commentary following the sentencing of Vickrum Digwa. We recognise the desire for answers about the police response that night.
However, what we cannot accept is the significant spread of misinformation online by those intent on causing further fear and division by making threats to officers and sharing names that are simply not true. "
