- Description
- “Bila dunia terasa berat, kasih seorang ibu menjadi tempat paling selamat.” 🌷

- Did you know that one in five children in Malaysia are stunted?
For many young children, the taska is where most of their daily meals come from. That's why UNICEF Malaysia, together with the Ministry of Health, is piloting the Healthy Central Kitchen (HCK) — a programme designed to improve what young children eat at taskas, making meals more nutritious, consistent, and right for their age.
Our team recently visited Gua Musang to see how it's going on the ground. This is just one part of the story. More to come. 👀

- Malaysia still opts out 5 key UN child rights articles namely:
1️⃣Article 2 (Non-discrimination)
2️⃣Article 7 (Name & Nationality)
3️⃣Article 14 (Religion & Thought)
4️⃣Article 28(1)(a) (Compulsory Education)
5️⃣Article 37 (Children in Detention)
The UN has been urging their withdrawal since 2006 but these "reservations" remain due to differences in our Sharia, Civil and Customary laws.
Should Malaysia have any reservations when it comes to child rights?

- Every child belongs in a safe and nurturing family environment | KePodChi EP.3
- Date posted
- Description
- In this episode, we unpack a tough but important question: If children haven’t lost both parents and they’re not orphans, why are they placed in homes? Through real-life stories, we explore experiences, misconceptions, and what it takes to ensure children grow up with care, connection and support.
But first, what is residential care?
Residential care is care provided in any non-family-based group setting, such as places of safety for emergency care, transit centres in emergency situations, and all other short- and long-term residential care facilities, including group homes.
Moderated by Meenatharisni Sundramohana, this episode features Dr Eric Sivanesh, Pooja Udayan and Sean, who share their journeys, advocacy and reflections on care, connection and the importance of family-based environments for children’s wellbeing.

- “KePodchi” is UNICEF Malaysia's podcast-style session with a light and casual tone. Based on the local Hokkien term Kepochi—colloquially referring to someone who is curious and involved in the issues around them, we’ve reimagined it as KePodchi (pod for podcast, with children and young people taking the lead), reflecting the spirit of youth curiosity, engagement, and action.
In this episode, we take you to Langkawi, Malaysia, where youth changemakers gathered at the ASEAN Children and Youth Climate Summit (ACYCS) this September. From discussing climate action and environmental justice to sharing their personal stories and struggles, these young leaders prove that age is no barrier to making a difference.

- How Future Skills Helped Husna Finally Learn Maths
- Date posted
- Description
- Watch how one small innovation opened a whole new world for Husna (12), who was born deaf.
For years, numbers made little sense to her – not because she couldn’t learn, but because the right learning tools were not available to her. That changed when her teacher built a simple “Totbin” using micro:bit. For the first time, Husna could see maths – and everything clicked.
This is what Future Skills for All is about: giving every child, including children with disabilities, the chance to learn with confidence. Together with the Ministry of Education and partners, UNICEF is helping teachers across Malaysia bring inclusive learning into their classrooms.
This initiative is in collaboration with the Malaysian Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), CelcomDigi and Arus Academy – proving that when we innovate together, children like Husna can thrive.
