- States impacted by the January winter storm lead recovery efforts while FEMA works with them to coordinate critical support, especially for restoring power. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has been an important partner—they worked with FEMA to position generators ahead of time and have installed 31 generators to date at the request of affected states, bringing much needed power and warmth to fire stations and medical facilities across Mississippi and Tennessee. USACE teams also provided technical support to Louisiana for 15 generator installs. Teams will continue installing more generators in days to come.
