- The Government is enhancing its support for businesses amid rising energy and logistics costs, particularly for vulnerable SMEs. The Corporate Income Tax rebate will be increased from 40% to 50% for Year of Assessment 2026.
The minimum benefits for companies employing at least one Singaporean will also be raised from $1,500 to $2,000, with total benefits capped at $40,000, up from $30,000. To build longer-term resilience against volatile energy prices, the Energy Efficiency Grant will be expanded from six designated sectors to all sectors, and extended until 31 March 2028. This will enable more companies to invest in energy-efficient equipment and reduce operating costs.

- Singapore must be prepared for the impact of the ongoing conflict to persist for the longer-term. A global energy crunch could be triggered if the situation in the Middle East escalates, slowing growth and pushing up inflation worldwide. Global oil and gas markets will also likely remain tight, even if the conflict ends and the Strait of Hormuz reopens.
This makes partnerships with like-minded countries, and upholding an open, rules-based trading system critical. Singapore must continue to ensure the free flow of energy and goods as far as possible.

- Singapore has taken steps to reduce the risk of disruptions to our energy supply through diversified fuel sources, power plants that can switch between fuel types when needed, adequate fuel reserves, and electricity retailers that are better positioned to manage price volatility.
