But the concern amongst those who worship here at Leelanau County's St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church is that the so-called disappearing church, after this decree issued by the Gaylord Diocese, may a...

- How Did Electric School Buses Survive a Northern Michigan Winter?

- Pellston Public Schools says its electric buses struggled through Northern Michigan's harsh winter, but district leaders say the fleet is still saving money and reducing the need for future bus purchases.
Transportation officials said battery life dropped significantly during the coldest days of the season, but the district estimates the buses have saved more than $30,000 through reduced fuel costs and avoided vehicle purchases.
“It’s been a very difficult winter, but the buses have done well,” Pellston Public Schools Superintendent Stephen Seelye said.
The buses the superintendent of Pellston Public Schools is referring to are electric.
The district received its first set of buses in December 2022 thanks to a $2 million federal grant.
