- Four people were wounded, one fatally, when gunfire erupted at a large party taking place at a mansion north of Beverly Hills where police had earlier responded to multiple calls of disturbing the peace and no social distancing.
Emergency services were sent to the 13200 block of Mulholland Drive about 12:45 a.m. and located three adults who had been wounded, The victims were treated at the scene, then taken to hospital.
A 35 year old woman died at the hospital, two male victims were in stable condition and another woman who had also been shot and went to hospital in a private vehicle was in stable condition.

Sergeant Kevin Donoghue said in a news conference that Rivera and her son rented a boat to take out on Lake Piru in Los Padres National Forest at approximately 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Her son was found hours later sleeping on the boat alone wearing a life vest.
The boy told authorities that he and his mother had been swimming in the lake, and said he got back in the boat but his mother did not, according to a report from the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.

One man was hoisted from the shoreline by an LA County helicopter and dropped of at a waiting ambulance to be transported to hospital with minor injuries. The victim managed to get himself out of the car while it was underwater and swim to the shore. He told rescuers that there was another man in the car who was unable to get out.

- Authorities were notified just after noon that a man wearing a GoPro camera had jumped from the dam into the water below. The camera surfaced but the man did not. After LASD Air 5 lowered divers into the dam they found the body close to the jump site and pronounced the 25 year old man dead. The Rindge Dam has been closed to the public for some time. Divers brought the body ashore. The dam has been closed since 2014. Located in Malibu Creek State Park, the dam was built by Malibu’s historic Rindge family to provide agricultural water supply in the 1920s. In recent years, it has become a destination for teenage daredevils and vandals who, according to State Parks officials often make the treacherous hike to the dam in order to drink, dive into the creek and paint the dam’s walls

- Resources from the Los Angeles Fire Department, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Search and Rescue teams, and local police responded to Little Tujunga Canyon Rd near Mile Marker 11.86 in the Angeles National Forest for reports of a vehicle over the side. Officials arrived to find one vehicle with a solo occupant that flew off the road into the canyon, leaving the driver ejected and critically injured. He was rescued and transported by helicopter to a local hospital in critical condition. Radio traffic heard on the scanner, that the victim was stranded in the canyon for at least 2 days after the crash. Note: The white vehicle seen under the overturned car was not involved and was from a previous accident.

A massive fireball engulfed 11 Los Angeles City Fire Department (LAFD) firefighters while they were battling a commercial building fire, sending all of them to the hospital with burn injuries.
On Saturday, May 16, 2020 at 6:26 p.m., the LAFD responded to a reported structure fire at 327 E. Boyd St. in downtown Los Angeles. The first companies arrived on scene within four minutes to find a one-story commercial building with smoke showing. The businesses were not open at the time and firefighters had to force entry with power saws to make access.
They immediately initiated an aggressive interior fire attack with hose lines, and a truck company was sent to the roof to perform vertical ventilation. - Pasadena police were involved in a pursuit with a male suspect when the car was stopped using a PIT maneuver at the intersection of Corson Street and Allen Avenue near the 210 Freeway and an officer-involved shooting occurred.
Gunfire erupted between the suspect and officers, one officer was struck in the leg. That officer was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
Three firearms were found inside the suspect's vehicle, police said.

Firefighters responded to the 1700 block of East 57th Street just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night and encountered massive flames coming from the pallet yard.
Firefighters described the pallet yard as being 300-foot-by-500-foot in size.
The fire was knocked down just after midnight.
