- LAPD Van Nuys Officers began following the "unreported stolen" Honda Passport on Vanowen and Sepulveda in Van Nuys and requested back up, an air unit and supervisor. The suspect refused to pull over for officers and a wild pursuit ensued. The suspect got on the NB 101 freeway to Woodland Hills where he exited De Soto and went south. He traversed roads south of Ventura for a while before getting back on the 101 southbound at Vanalden. He got off at Van Nuys Blvd where he went south on Beverly Glen to Mulholland east. He crashed into a guardrail then slammed into the mountainside just west of Laurel Canyon. The suspect refused to come out of the car and LAPD K-9 and Metro units were requested. LAPD smashed the rear windows of the car (starting at 2m 25s in the video) using beanbag rounds and shortly thereafter threw in tear gas (numerous times). The suspect was finally pulled from the car and arrested before being transported to a local hospital via LAFD Ambulance.

CAPTION: A series of 3 crashes were reported one after the other in the southbound lanes of the 405 freeway at Santa Monica Blvd with numerous reports of pedestrians in lanes (one of them reportedly fled the scene). During the numerous crashes a pedestrian was struck and killed. CHP West LA are handling the investigation. It is unknown if the driver that struck the pedestrian stayed on scene or fled. LAFD pronounced the pedestrian dead on scene. The southbound lanes were closed for about an hour before one lane was open to allow traffic to start moving.

When units arrived on scene they found one large commercial building with heavy fire and smoke, along with multiple exposures to UPS trucks on the lot. - Three people who were killed in a fiery solo-vehicle crash in East Los Angeles early Friday morning, including two teenage siblings, have been identified by family members and friends.
According to loved ones, the passengers were Abigail Flores, a 19-year-old mother of two, and her younger brother, 18-year-old Jahmai Flores. The driver was identified as Julian Mendez, who is believed to have been in his early 20s.
The crash happened near Herbert Avenue and Olympic Boulevard about 12:30 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Authorities say the driver collided into a tree, causing the car to erupt in flames with all three people trapped inside.
A truck driver who was in the area saw the car and used a fire extinguisher to put out the flames.
All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Friends say the siblings and the driver were friends and they were just hanging out.

CAPTION: CHP attempted to stop a speeding Acura on the 14 southbound in Santa Clarita just after midnight and the driver failed to stop. CHP pursued the vehicle at up to 120mph along the 14, 5, 170, 118 and 405 before the suspect got off the freeway in North Hills. He circled the area for a short time with an LAPD air unit overhead before he finally gave up after attempting to pull into an apartment complex on Orion just north of Parthenia. - HEADLINE: Long Beach: Shooting Investigation Underway After Man Found Shot in Head
CAPTION: A man was found shot & wounded, down in the middle of South Street early Tuesday morning, prompting the closure of South Street in both directions. Police received multiple calls for shots fired in the area of Linden Avenue & South Street around 12:45. Arriving units located a male in his 30s suffering a gun shot wound possibly to the head. The victim was rushed to Long Beach Memorial Hospital by LB Fire paramedics in unknown condition. Police have taped off the area and are canvassing for evidence and surveillance video in the area.
