Katenda told NewsOnOne that the next five years could be much harder if people choose weak leaders, as poor leadership has already slowed services and made life difficult for many of the country's residents.
Katenda said political parties must raise standards when vetting candidates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to serve their communities, while leaders should be visible, accountable, and capable of delivering essential services.
Katenda said internal divisions within political parties often lead to poor candidate choices, with leaders picked for loyalty or popularity rather than competence, which hurts innovation, development, and the country’s best interests.

World Health Organisation (WHO) Country Representative, Richard Banda, says one in five infections in Africa is resistant to antibiotics, making it the second most affected region worldwide.

Acting Judge Reinhard Tötemeyer has now removed the case from the court roll, signaling that normal court operations will resume on Monday.

The family of seven-year-old, Hazel Uiras, who was shot and killed at Windhoek’s Hakahana location last week, is calling for the 55-year-old suspect to remain in custody without a bail option, insisting he is dangerous.
Uiras was playing with other children in the street near her home, when the male suspect fired a gun at them hitting her and also injuring another 16-year-old, Ismael Xamseb.
Ismael Xamseb, who is currently hospitalised at Katutura hospital, was hit a bullet from the gun while attempting to flee.
Uiras's grandmother, Christina Uiras, said she was a bright and lively child, and her sudden death has left the family heartbroken and struggling to cope.
