IPC spokesperson, Imms Nashinge, said the party has gained more seats, from just over 30 in 2020 to nearly 50 in the recently concluded regional council and local authority elections.
According to the Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) results, the party’s performance in local authority elections declined from 21% in 2020 to 15.01% this year, with the party losing dominance in Walvis Bay, Luderitz and Oniipa.
Nashinge said the party has grown significantly and is now represented in constituencies where it previously had no presence, including parts of the South and the Northern regions.

The Namibia Revenue Agency has officially launched its specialised K9 Unit at Hosea Kutako International Airport, in an effort to strengthen the country’s border security and enforcement capacity.
The unit comprise of four dogs that will be stationed at the Trans-Kalahari border post while the other two will be based at the Hosea Kutako International Airport.
