PDM secretary general Manuel Ngaringombe has dismissed claims that the party’s 2019 performance was “sponsored” by votes meant for IPC.
PDM parliamentarian Maximalliant Katjimune posted on social media on Wednesday that the party’s 2019 performance was largely driven by Dr.
Panduleni Itula’s popularity, saying leaders were advised but ignored the analysis.
The remarks come as the party faces resignations, with at least nine seniors leaving in recent weeks.

Hashoongo said the federation will continue working to encourage persons with disabilities to take part in politics, traditional leadership, and the formal economy.
Hashoongo said while the federation has strengthened some partnerships, it also faced financial challenges due to the loss of donor partners, yet he sees new opportunities following Namibia’s recent economic reclassification.

Prime Minister, Elijah Ngurare has announced the reintroduction of the Food-for-Work and Cash-for-Work programme
The initiative is designed to support unemployed but able-bodied adults who are willing to contribute to community development projects in exchange for food items or occasional cash compensation.
Ngurare announced this during his visit to the Namibia Training Authority (NTA) on Thursday.
Ngurare if the programme is implemented effectively in collaboration with local and traditional authorities, has the potential to generate income for households that currently do not have sources of livelihood.

Health and Social Services Minister Esperance Luvindao said they are now procuring medicine and medical supplies directly from international manufacturers and wholesalers. This is being done under emergency provisions of the Public Procurement Act (Act 15 of 2015).
Luvindao said the new approach aims to save both time and money while securing large quantities of needed supplies. So far, the minister said they have saved over N$221million compared to the weighted average prices paid to intermediaries.
Luvindao made the remarks during a press briefing on the pharmaceuticals situation in Namibia, citing procurement of antiretoviral drugs (ARVs). She said in some cases a supplier may charge N$100 million, but by purchasing directly from manufacturer, they are paying less.

Mbambo told NewsOnOne on Wednesday that the media holds the power to build or destroy, and must therefore use that power responsibly, adding that transparency depends on verified facts to protect the Presidency’s credibility.
Mbambo said he is working on strategies to engage media stakeholders, ensuring information from the Presidency is accurate, timely, and credible.
Mbambo said the President needs national backing, urging informed discussions on initiatives such as NDP6 and the youth fund, while stressing that the Presidency relies on the media to capture grassroots voices.

The Mindsinaction Steam Centre is currently hosting a bootcamp programs to equip learners in terms of robotics, mathematics and science.
The current bootcamps are in the Erongo region's Okombahe settlement, in collaboration with the Bank of Namibia.
In an interview with NewsonOne, the centre's founder Ndaudika Mulundileni said they aim to educate the over 200 learners to apply their knowledge of the set subjects understanding while at the bootcamp.
''The aim of these bootcamps, which are happening in remote areas such as Okombahe, Opuwo, KavangoEast and Onamutayi villages, is to expose children and let them know about what they are learning in school already. Let's say these children are learning mathematics and science, but they lack the application of those math and science concepts to technology and engineering" said Mulundileni.
