- Autonomous robotaxis operated by Zoox are set to begin trips to and from Harry Reid International Airport on Thursday, Sept. 3, expanding beyond their current operations on the Las Vegas Strip.
The vehicles are expected to pick up and drop off passengers at Level 0 at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, providing rides between the airport and the Strip.
UNLV Electrical and Computer Engineering Associate Professor Brendan Morris said airport service has long been a goal for autonomous ride services. “What we really wanted to do was have trips to the airport,” Morris said. He added that bringing robotaxis to the airport could introduce the technology to far more people. “That it’s going to be at the airport, you are going to touch way more people than you would imagine,” Morris said.

A neighbor who lives one building away and asked not to be identified said she knew something was wrong when she saw emergency vehicles arriving.
“I was heading to run some errands, and I heard sirens coming down the street,” she said. “Neighbors outside. Neighbors crying.”

A Clark County jury found Davis, 63, guilty Monday of first-degree murder with a deadly weapon in Shakur’s 1996 killing. Jurors deliberated for less than three hours before returning the verdict.
“If it weren’t for Keffe D. Davis — his ego and desire for money — he might still be walking the streets in Henderson, Nevada,” Roger told News 3. “But he couldn’t stand that a law enforcement officer used his own words to get fame and money.”

- A man was shot and killed early Sunday morning after a fight broke out during a party at a short-term rental in the southwest Las Vegas Valley, according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police.
Officers were called to the 7200 block of Atascadero Creek Court around 1:51 a.m. on Aug. 30 after reports of gunfire.
Police said they found a man in the driveway of a home suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers rendered aid until medical crews arrived, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
