- Ballot papers for the 2022 National Election arrived in the country today.
With over 3 weeks to go before the issuance of writs for the general polls, the ballot papers arrived this morning at Port Moresby's Jackson's International Airport from Australia.
Security was tight at the APEC Terminal as Election officials and Police Personnel received the ballot papers.
The Australian Government, through its support towards PNG’s election preparedness stepped in to print and fly over 12 million ballot papers.
At a cost of K10 million, 6 million ballot papers are assigned for provincial or governors’ seats and the other 6 million for electorate seats.
Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai confirmed the arrival of the ballot papers with NBC News today.

- Kairuku Hiri district of Central province is fielding 120 athletes to participate in the Inaugural Papua Regional Youth Games in Milne Bay province.
The team’s participation was to identify local raw talents in preparation for the PNG Games in November, this year.

- The National Souths Basketball League organizers are calling on teams not registered and others interested to register for the tournament, this year.
The tournament is set to be held on the 15th to the 18th of this month in Port Moresby.
President of the League, Silas Nicky, told NBC National Sports that the deadline for all registration is Monday April 11.
He says the registration fee is one-thousand Kina each team for both men and women.
