- The Investment Promotion Authority preparing to host the second Regulators Summit at the end of this month.
IPA Managing Director, Clarence Hoot, says this is important as it aims at providing an environment where regulators and the private sector businesses come together and discuss their performances and challenges.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Regulators summit will be jointly hosted and co-funded by Investment Promotion Authority and Department of Information and Communications Technology.
IPA Managing Director, Clarence Hoot, says from the 2019 summit, I-P-A had found out that the regulators and the businesses were working in isolation and has been working to address these challenges.

- The Office of Censorship has sounded the alarm over the alarming increase in cases of Technology-Facilitated Gender-Based Violence or TFGBV in Papua New Guinea, with women and girls bearing the burden of the attacks.
TFGBV also known as digital violence, is a growing concern in the country, with perpetrators using technology to commit and amplify violence against individuals based on their gender.
This can take many forms, including online harassment, cyberbullying, and even femicide.
According to Chief Censor, Jim Abani, his office has recognized the shift of violence from physical spaces to digital ones and is working with the national secretariat office to implement strategies to tackle the issue.

- Primary School teachers in Manus will now be testing the use of smart tablets, to help with lesson preparations and research.
This week, 250 tablets were handed over to the Manus Education Division, from the Japanese Government through the Smile Tablets Project.
The smile tablets were installed with text books, educational videos and other materials to help teachers deliver their lessons.

- The PNG Electoral Commission has announced that it will be using the old PNG Electoral Data base for the National Elections this year.
Electoral Commissioner Simon Sinai announced in an exclusive interview with NBC that the Commission already has a base roll which is extracted from the 2017 and 2019 data.
He says the roll is currently being updated and will be used for the national elections.

This was the assurance from the Chief Executive Officer Dr. Steven Yennie.

- The Catholic Church in PNG and Solomon Island will be hosting its 3rd General assembly meeting this month to propose a five-year conference patrol plan for the Catholic Church in the two countries.
The 3rd General assembly meeting will take place on the 21st to the 26th April at Mingende in Simbu province.
Coordinator of the meeting, Fr Victor Roche says more than100 Catholic representatives from the 19 dioceses in PNG are expected to attend the 3rd General assembly this month.

- Papua New Guinea Defence Force is privileged to receive and welcome a British Royal navy vessel this morning at the old Port Moresby wharf after two decades.
The Royal Navy HMS Spey is visiting PNG to renew its relationship between PNGDF and the Royal British Navy.
The visit also coincides with the arrival of Princess Anne next week in Port Moresby.
The HMS Spey will be living Port Moresby on the 14th of April.
