- Advisory: The following video contains profanity.
The family of a woman shot by police in Eden Prairie last year has filed a civil lawsuit in federal court accusing the police of wrongfully killing her. The suit claims 34-year-old Dawn Pfister was either sitting or lying down and posed no threat to officers when she was shot. Pfister and her boyfriend, 36-year-old Matt Serbus, led police on a high speed car chase last February that ended on Highway 212. Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigators said Pfister was shot after she picked up the knife Serbus had been holding and refused to put it down.
The attorney for Pfister’s family, Robert Bennett, says the BCA has refused to release unedited video footage from the scene that he says will contradict the version of events told by officers. This video from a state patrol squad car was edited and released by the BCA.
