- An area of low pressure moves into the southwest, bringing wet and windy conditions and a risk of further flooding. A yellow warning for rain is in place throughout the day. A slow‑moving area of rain and hill snow will push north into eastern Scotland, while northern England, North Wales and the Midlands will turn a little drier with some bright spells. Northern Ireland will see rain easing later. - Much of the UK will begin with wet, cloudy conditions, and further rain will continue to move in through the day. A band of rain pushes into northern England and southern Scotland, turning to snow over higher ground, before spreading into central and eastern Scotland. Northern Ireland, north and east Wales, the Midlands and the southeast will see some brighter spells as cloud breaks later. By evening, South Wales and the Southwest will face gusty winds and heavy rain, bringing difficult travel and a risk of localised flooding. A yellow rain warning is in place over southwest England and Northern Ireland through the day. Temperatures will range from 4 - 5°C in the northeast to around 10°C in the southwest, feeling colder in the wind and damp conditions. - This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the morning of 30/01/2026. - More rain will move into southwest England, Wales and Northern Ireland, bringing a risk of localised flooding and travel disruption. As the rain pushes into colder air across North Wales, northern England and southern Scotland, it will turn to snow, settling above 300 - 400 m. In eastern Scotland, we will continue to see snow on higher ground, such as the Grampians, and rain at lower levels. Northwest Scotland will remain drier and clearer. - Many areas will see a grey, cloudy and breezy day with some showery rain, though much of the country will stay dry at first. Eastern Scotland, especially the Grampians, will see persistent rain turning to snow above 300 - 400 m, while Northern Ireland will turn wetter later with a brisk southeasterly wind. Coastal gales will develop around the Irish Sea. Strong winds make temperatures of 5 - 6°C in the east feel colder. Northern Ireland will stay wet through the evening before conditions begin to ease later in the night. Another band of rain will then move into the far southwest during the early hours accompanied by gusty winds. Multiple Met Office weather warnings remain in place. The Midlands and North Wales will see a drier spell, allowing temperatures to dip to 2 - 3°C in rural spots.
