- On America's 250th birthday, 252 immigrants gained their United States citizenship in a naturalization ceremony at the Seattle Center.
The new citizens immigrated to the U.S. from 55 different nations and were celebrated and welcomed by elected officials, community leaders, and a crowd of friends and family watching proudly.
"The American identity is uniquely tied to generations of immigrants like you," said U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, an Indian-American immigrant herself.

The Seattle crowd roared with approval and broke out into a brief but powerful "USA!" chant.

An American child born after Dec. 31, 2024, and before Jan. 1, 2029, for whom a Trump Account is established will receive an initial $1,000 deposit from the government, with the potential for parents to contribute up to an additional $5,000 per year initially, a White House fact sheet from August 2025 said.
ARC Seattle spoke with Adam Powell, a financial advisor with Private Advisory Group in Redmond, about when families can start using the accounts, who can contribute to them, and who stands to benefit the most from them.

From her hospital room over a Zoom interview, Renee Wilson told KOMO News she was given the green light on Wednesday to check out of Tacoma General Hospital to be with her newborn, nearly one week after the attack in the 4000 block of Puget Sound Avenue.
Wilson explained she was about to install her new baby car seat in the parking lot of her apartment complex on June 25, her due date, when the unthinkable happened.
"I saw two dogs running toward me. I looked down and saw my chihuahua, so I immediately knew what they were going for," she added. " I just started screaming for help, but there was nobody around, and I just remember thinking, like, ‘I’m probably going to die.’"

The building is easy to get lost in.
Alaska's new training hub spans 670,000 square feet, housing classrooms, mock airport gates, check-in counters, emergency training rooms, flight simulators, and uniform fitting areas. About 60,000 square feet remains undeveloped, leaving room for future expansion.
The airline said it invested $200 million in the facility, which is designed to train Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines employees as the combined carrier pursues an ambitious expansion through 2030.
