Christopher Leahy, 31, surrendered to police shortly after surveillance photos were released showing Leahy at the homicide scene. The suspect remains in custody after a judge found probable cause for first-degree murder with a deadly weapon and set Leahy's bail at $10 million in a first court appearance on Thursday.
A charging decision is expected by Monday evening, after the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office receives a case from Seattle police investigators.

And three King County residents are being monitored by public health officials after potential exposure to the Andes type of hantavirus linked to the MV Hondius cruise ship.
But there are no known hantavirus cases currently in the U.S., officials said. An American doctor who was on the MV Hondius cruise ship and initially tested positive for hantavirus has since tested negative and says "there's no evidence that I've had hantavirus", ABC News reported.
A doctor from the biocontainment unit in Nebraska said the initial test was most likely a false positive, based on further testing.

On April 30, a 16-year-old student, armed with a knife, stabbed four students and a security guard during a fight in a school hallway. Before Tacoma police officers responded to the campus, the department said four staff members courageously jumped in, preventing the violent situation from taking a deadly turn.
Bonhoeffer Muao, Sharrese Johnson, David McEachern and Shiante Reed were each honored with the Tacoma Police Department’s Medal of Courage during a school board meeting Thursday. - Description
- The debate over Washington’s new millionaires tax has dominated political and legal conversations for months, raising questions about whether the tax is constitutional and whether the issue could ultimately land before the state Supreme Court.
That backdrop may already be reshaping races for Washington’s highest court.
Campaign finance records show candidates running for five of the court’s nine seats have collectively raised more than $1 million months before the primary election, a dramatic increase for contests that historically have drawn relatively little public attention and modest fundraising.
Washington Supreme Court races rarely attract this level of money or scrutiny.
Four years ago, three justices ran unopposed. Two candidates raised less than $27,000 combined. This year, seven judicial candidates have already raised more than six figures, led by state Court of Appeals Judge Ian Birk, who is running for Supreme Court ...

- President Donald Trump wrapped up critical talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday, claiming progress had been made in stabilizing U.S.-China relations amid tensions over Taiwan, the war in Iran and trade.
Before boarding Air Force One, Trump said he had not decided whether a major U.S. arms sale to Taiwan would move forward, adding, “I will make a determination.”
Xi warned Trump on Thursday of potential “clashes and conflicts” over Taiwan if the U.S.’s $11 billion arms package to the island is not handled properly. The White House announced the deal in December but has yet to begin fulfilling it.
Trump said Xi reiterated China’s opposition to Taiwanese independence. “I heard him out,” Trump said. “I didn’t make a comment.”

- Seattle is trying public bathrooms again — this time with high-tech upgrades ahead of the FIFA World Cup.
The city is installing new free, solar-powered restrooms in Pioneer Square and near stadiums and transit hubs to prepare for thousands of visitors expected during the tournament. Officials say the bathrooms will be remotely monitored, cleaned regularly, and designed to resist vandalism and graffiti.
But for many Seattle residents, the plan brings back memories of the city’s infamous $5 million self-cleaning toilet project from 2004. Those high-tech restrooms were plagued by drug use, prostitution, and vandalism before being sold off on eBay just four years later.
From the KOMO News Archives, this "Problem Solvers" report looks back at the controversial experiment that’s still shaping the conversation around public bathrooms in Seattle today.

The Iranian regime's obstruction of the strait and the U.S. naval blockade on Iranian ports have choked off about 20% of the world's crude oil supply and caused energy and other petroleum product prices to skyrocket. The national average for a gallon of regular gas in the United States on Thursday was $4.53, according to AAA. Before the war, it was $2.98.
