According to city officials, the issue began in late May when the Washington State Department of Transportation closed Exit 119 to complete work on ramps and a roundabout.
During the project, the city temporarily lifted restrictions on heavy trucks on Center Drive so they could continue to access several warehouses in the northwest part of the city.

- Description
- Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson announced a new strategy Wednesday aimed at addressing long-standing public safety concerns in Little Saigon and North Beacon Hill, combining increased police enforcement with expanded outreach and treatment services.
The plan targets the area around 12th Avenue South and South Jackson Street, a corridor that community leaders and business owners have for years identified as a hotspot for open-air drug activity, public disorder, and other criminal behavior.
Under the new approach, Seattle police officers will increase their presence in the neighborhood and contact people engaged in illegal activity. According to the mayor's office, individuals who continue to violate the law could face arrest or be referred to the Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion, or LEAD, program, which connects people with case management and support services instead of the traditional criminal justice system.
