- HOUSTON, TX – A man was shot in the leg during a robbery at an apartment complex in northwest Houston.
The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 5900 block of Pinemont at the Patriot Forest Apartments.
According to the Houston Police Department, North Patrol officers responded to reports of a male shot in the lower leg. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say the victim was walking along Pinemont in front of the apartment complex when a younger male approached from behind, assaulted him, took a pistol, and shot him with his own weapon.
Witnesses reported seeing the suspect run west toward a nearby gas station. Patrol and Patrol Support Officers located the suspect at a convenience store, where he was found in possession of the victim’s pistol and taken into custody at the scene.

- HOUSTON, TX – A two-alarm fire damaged multiple units at an apartment complex in Houston during the evening hours.
The fire was reported around 7:40 p.m. at the Quail Creek Apartments located at 7835 Grow Lane.
The Houston Fire Department responded to reports of fire and smoke and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a second-floor unit, with initial reports that someone may have been trapped. Firefighters entered in fire attack and rescue mode and conducted a primary search, but no victims were found inside and no injuries were reported.
Approximately 60 to 70 firefighters, paramedics, EMTs, and command staff responded to the scene. Firefighters established a water supply after laying approximately 600 feet of 5-inch hose.
The fire was about 90% contained around 10 p.m.

The pursuit began around 10:23 p.m. and continued from Highway 249 to the 4100 block of State Highway 6, where the vehicle came to a stop.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a male and female exited the vehicle and fled into nearby woods. A K-9 unit was deployed, and when the female saw the dog got a hold of the male suspect, she came out with her hands up and was detained.
