According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a blue Chevrolet Silverado was carjacked at gunpoint from a gas station on Tidwell Road Saturday afternoon. Using GPS tracking, the owner was able to locate the stolen truck near Airline Drive and 610.
The owner's father and a friend tracked down the vehicle, and a collision occurred before two suspects, a black male and female, fled on foot toward a nearby gas station. The father and the friend then chased the suspects when the male suspect opened fire, striking both men before fleeing in a dark colored pickup truck.
The father later died at the hospital, and the friend is expected to survive.

Police believe the victims and suspect knew each other and may have been drinking together before an argument broke out. The victims then attempted to leave when the suspect opened fire. The suspect fled, but police were able to get a description of the suspect and vehicle from the surviving victim.
