- COLLIN COUNTY, Texas — Dr. Matthews joined a family outside the Collin County Courthouse to speak out about an ongoing child custody dispute involving Judge Lindsey Wynne, alleging a mother's postpartum struggles became a central issue in a case that has kept her separated from her daughter for nearly three years.
During the press conference, Dr. Matthews stood alongside the child's mother, grandmother and other relatives, who alleged the court system failed to adequately consider evidence they claim demonstrates the child's best interests would be served by returning the child to the mother's side of the family.
According to the family, the case began after a hospital report led to a child welfare investigation. Family members said the investigation ultimately concluded with findings they described as "unable to determine," but custody litigation continued. They also alleged court records and evidence in the case have been sealed from public view.
