According to the Houston Police Department, officers were flagged down on Glenborough on August 9th by occupants of a vehicle that had been fired upon on the north freeway near Greens Road.
Houston Fire Department paramedics also responded and transported Martinez to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on August 10th.
Lopez was arrested earlier this week by the Houston Police Department’s Special Response Team and the Eastside Patrol Division’s Crime Suppression Team.
Lopez remains in jail, and his next court date is scheduled for October 1st.

- A 44-year-old man was found unconscious during a townhome fire on Cattails Lane in southwest Houston overnight.
According to the Houston Police Department, a neighbor called for help after smelling smoke coming from the townhome. Firefighters found a fire in the kitchen and the man unconscious in another room.
Firefighters performed CPR before he was taken to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Police also say his dog is currently missing.

According to the Houston Police Department, a witness said a gunman ran toward the victim and fired five times, striking him once in the abdomen before he fled.
Officers provided CPR before the man was transported to the hospital for treatment by HFD
He was reportedly in surgery and is doing okay.

- A suspected DWI driver struck six vehicles after leading Harris County deputies on a pursuit lasting less than two minutes.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Deputies began searching for the white Dodge Ram after callers reported it crossing multiple lanes, forcing vehicles off the road and traveling in the wrong lane on FM 2920.
A deputy found the truck at a gas station, but the driver refused to stop and fled.
Shortly after, the 53-year-old driver drove into a ditch near Cypress Rosehill Road, lost control, and crashed into six vehicles. The driver and five other adults were hospitalized with injuries that were not life-threatening.
