- HOUSTON, TX – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating a fatal head-on crash that occurred early Saturday morning in the 2200 block of Hopper Road.
According to investigators, on October 25, 2025, at approximately 12:42 a.m., Juan Luis Velazquez Olvera was driving a silver 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 eastbound in the number one lane. At the same time, an unidentified driver operating a silver 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan was traveling westbound in the same lane.
A witness reported that the unidentified driver failed to maintain a single lane and veered into the eastbound number one lane, striking Velazquez Olvera’s vehicle head-on.
Velazquez Olvera was transported to HCA Kingwood Hospital and is currently in stable condition. Deputies noted signs of intoxication and conducted a follow-up at the hospital for a blood draw. Test results are pending.

According to investigators, a white Ford F-150 was traveling southbound in the number 1 lane of Independence Parkway S. At the same time, a black Ford Taurus was stopped in the number 2 southbound lane. The driver of the Taurus, who has not yet been identified, attempted an unsafe U-turn from the number 2 lane and was struck on the left side by the front of the F-150.
The driver of the Taurus sustained life-threatening injuries and was found to have no signs of life at the scene.

A family had been leaving the club when a large fight broke out involving the woman’s adult children and others. Pepper spray was reportedly deployed during the altercation, leaving several individuals temporarily impaired.
The woman’s stepfather drove to the feeder road to pick up the adult children, and they soon discovered she had been shot. - HOUSTON, TX — A 22-year-old man was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2400 block of Westridge just before 8:30 p.m. tonight.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to the shooting call and located the victim in the parking lot. Officers applied chest seals at the scene before the man was transported by the Houston Fire Department to a nearby hospital.
He is currently listed in stable condition.
No suspect or motive information has been released at this time. The investigation is ongoing.

- HOUSTON, TEXAS — Charges have been filed in connection with the fatal shooting of 35-year-old Angel Chavira outside an apartment complex at 4603 Sherwood Lane on the night of July 5, 2025.
Octavio Garcia Cruz, 48, has been arrested and charged with murder in the 184th Criminal District Court. He was taken into custody on October 8 by members of the Houston Police Department's Gang Division Crime Reduction Unit and the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force. Cruz has been booked into the Harris County Jail.
A second suspect remains at large. He is described only as a Hispanic male seen wearing a Barcelona t-shirt in surveillance video released by investigators on August 27. (towards end of of this video) He is considered armed and dangerous.

HOUSTON, TX – A gunman went on a shooting spree across Sugar Land and southwest Houston on Wednesday, leaving four people dead.
The first shooting occurred shortly before 1 p.m. in the 12900 block of Dairy Ashford Road near US 90 in Sugar Land. A woman was found shot inside her vehicle and later died at a hospital. The suspect fled the scene.
Around 1:45 p.m., the gunman arrived at a mechanic shop in the 13000 block of Fondren Road in southwest Houston. After an argument and a witness recording him, he opened fire and killed two men, including the shop owner.
A few miles away, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to another shooting in the 8000 block of Creekbend Drive, where the gunman was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

- HOUSTON, TX – According to Captain Ryan Watson, an armed robbery crew fired at police while fleeing a robbery, leading to a pursuit and crash near Canino and West Hardy Road.
The robbery began about 11:15 a.m. when three suspects reportedly robbed the WSS clothing store in the 500 block of East Tidwell. Patrol officers obtained a description and surveillance photos of the suspects’ vehicle.
The North Division’s patrol and crime suppression teams started to search the area and located the vehicle about 12:55 p.m. in front of the Advance Auto Parts at Airline and Tidwell, where the suspects were reportedly committing another robbery. As undercover officers attempted to watch the suspects, the suspects opened fire at police, striking no one. The suspects fled in a silver SUV and were pursued for roughly ten minutes before crashing at Canino and West Hardy Road. One suspect and one civilian were transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

- ATASCOCITA, TX – A garage fire broke out Sunday afternoon on Arnette Park Lane, with heavy smoke visible in the area.
The Atascocita Fire Department responded quickly and began fire suppression efforts with assistance from mutual aid partners. The fire was successfully extinguished shortly after their arrival.
There are no reported injuries at this time. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
Crews are expected to remain on scene to complete operations. Residents are asked to continue avoiding the area so additional fire apparatus can access the location if needed.

- HOUSTON, TX – A driver was killed early Sunday morning after a Jeep crashed into a stalled vehicle on the East Freeway.
The crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of I-10 just before Wayside.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers received a call about a stalled blue Nissan that was stopped in the second lane of the freeway. A Jeep struck the rear of the Nissan.
The driver of the Nissan was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Houston Fire Department. The age of the victim is not known at this time.
Investigators later determined the driver of the Jeep was not impaired. The Jeep may have been traveling above the posted speed limit, though not at an excessive rate of speed. The actual speed of the vehicle is still to be determined.

- HOUSTON, TX – A 40-year-old man was shot inside Sekai nightclub in EaDo early Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred at 1505 St. Emanuel Street around 2:19 a.m. Officers from the Houston Police Department’s South Central Division responded to a shooting call inside the club.
The Houston Fire Department provided treatment on scene, including a chest seal and tourniquet, before taking the victim to a hospital. He was reported to be in stable condition.
