- HOUSTON, TX – A 22-year-old male was critically injured in a shooting early Sunday morning at The Morgan Apartment Homes in southwest Houston.
The shooting occurred around 1:50 a.m. in the 2400 block of Westridge. According to police, officers arrived to find the victim lying outside after attempting to get help. Officers immediately applied a tourniquet to control the bleeding before Houston Fire Department paramedics transported him to a nearby hospital.
Police say the victim had reportedly been robbed at gunpoint by several individuals about two hours earlier at the same apartment complex. Investigators believe it is possible that the same suspect or suspects involved in the earlier robbery may be connected to the shooting.
Multiple shell casings of different calibers were recovered at the scene. No suspects are in custody at this time.

- HOUSTON, TX – Two suspects have been charged in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Jaylon Ward at the Ramada by Wyndham Houston Westchase, located at 2451 Hayes Road, around 3:15 a.m. on November 2.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to the hotel and found Ward deceased inside a room with at least one gunshot wound.
Investigators determined that Ward was shot following an argument with another person inside the room. Further investigation identified Gabriel Isaiah Menefee, 23, as the suspect. Menefee was arrested on November 6 and charged with murder in the 263rd Criminal District Court.
A second suspect, Kaleb Bates, 17, was also taken into custody and charged with theft in connection with a stolen vehicle linked to the incident.

- HOUSTON, TX – More than 100 firefighters responded to a massive apartment fire that destroyed an entire building and displaced multiple residents early this morning.
Crews were dispatched around 8:33 a.m. to the Corridor at Westchase apartments, located at 11201 Olympia Drive in west Houston. The first units arrived on scene at 8:37 a.m. and discovered heavy flames coming from Building 34, which housed 16 units. The fire quickly escalated to a 2-11 alarm, prompting a large-scale response from the Houston Fire Department.
According to officials, the entire building was a total loss. Five of the 16 units were reportedly unoccupied at the time. The blaze was fully contained and extinguished by 10 a.m.
Apartment management is working to rehouse displaced residents within the complex. The Red Cross was also contacted to provide additional support and resources.

- HOUSTON, TX – Emilio Lee Vargas was killed almost one year ago, and his family is still searching for answers.
According to his sister, Emilio was leaving a party on Chadwick Street in the Jacinto City area when he was shot once in the head. She states a neighbor near the home said he was left on the ground for more than 30 minutes without receiving any help before being transported to the hospital. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased just eight minutes after arriving.
His sister believes he was targeted, not the victim of a drive-by shooting as initially reported. She says surveillance video supports her belief, showing that only one shot was fired. Emilio was a father-to-be at the time of his death, and his son was born on Christmas Day.
Detectives have given permission for the family to share photos of the truck and other images in hopes that someone will recognize those involved.

- HOUSTON, TX – An investigation is underway after four people were shot, one fatally, early Sunday morning in southwest Houston.
According to Houston Police, officers first received a hospital check call around 5:06 a.m. after two people arrived at a hospital with gunshot wounds. The victims told officers they had been shot at a nightclub (El Caribe) on Rampart Street. When police went to the club, nothing appeared out of place.
Just before 6 a.m., officers were called to a second location, a nightclub in the 6900 block of Ashcroft Drive, just south of Bellaire Boulevard, where they found two additional victims. One person was pronounced deceased at the scene, and another was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In total, four people were shot. Two remain hospitalized in stable condition, one is in critical condition, and one was pronounced deceased.

- HOUSTON, TX – A man was found shot to death inside a vehicle that crashed into a parked car outside a home in the 6400 block of Briar Terrace Saturday night.
Around 9 p.m., residents reported hearing a loud boom just outside their home. When they went outside to investigate, they discovered their parked vehicle had been struck. As they approached the vehicle that caused the crash, they saw the driver had been shot multiple times.
The residents immediately called police. Houston Fire Department personnel responded and pronounced the driver deceased at the scene.
At this time, it is unknown what led up to the shooting. The homeowners did not recognize the driver or the vehicle involved. Officers canvassed the area and knocked on nearby doors to collect surveillance footage.

The call initially came in shortly after 10 p.m. as a report of a person down at a different location on Paul Quinn. While en route, officers received updated information redirecting them to the area near a walking path and benches just west of a nearby park on W. Tidwell.
Upon arrival, officers found the man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was initially listed in critical condition. Doctors later advised that he had been stabilized.
According to preliminary information, the victim was reportedly resting on a bench in the park area when he was shot. He was able to call for help himself but could not provide any suspect details.
