Designated app stores are expected to implement these measures by 31 March 2026. These requirements will also be extended to designated social media services to reduce children's exposure to age-appropriate social media content.
Together with the existing protective measures under the Code of Practice for Online Safety, the Government will continue to co-create resources with the wider community to help parents guide their children to foster healthy digital habits.
Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Rahayu Mahzam spoke in Parliament on 13 January 2026.

- Description
- Acting Minister for Transport and Senior Minister of State for Finance Jeffrey Siow shared in Parliament on 12 Jan 2026 that the Government assesses GIC and Temasek's performance mainly against their different mandates and risk profiles, and not with other funds. The key focus has been on their respective long-term performance, rather than short-term fluctuations, that is achieved within acceptable risk limits.
On this basis, GIC has achieved a real return of 3.8% per annum over the past 20 years, by balancing risk exposure against global market volatility.
Temasek operates at a higher risk level and does not operate against a conventional reference portfolio. Over the last two decades, Temasek has delivered a total shareholder return of 8% per annum in US dollar terms despite the challenging investment landscape.
