- Experts link the drier weather conditions in Eastern Equatoria and other parts of South Sudan to the worsening impacts of El Niño, EU Head of Delegation Per Enarsson told the media last week.
Enarsson added that the effects of El Niño are growing worse and could increase hunger and disrupt daily activities including elections in some areas if conditions deteriorate further.
