Kajo-Keji County Commissioner Wani Jackson Mule has accused the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) of crossing into South Sudan territory and attacking a South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF) base along the border.
Following the reported fighting in Kajo-Keji, church leaders say thousands of people have been displaced and are calling for urgent humanitarian support for affected families. Many of those forced to flee are women, children, the elderly, and other vulnerable people who escaped with little or no belongings.

The warning follows last month’s incident in which a hyena was seen roaming the streets of Juba, raising concerns about public safety. Wildlife authorities say keeping protected animals as pets is dangerous for both people and the animals, urging anyone keeping wildlife illegally to surrender them voluntarily before facing legal action.
