- The forecast has taken us on a quick trip back to winter, as sub-freezing temperatures and lower relative humidity values bring back cold-weather precautions and winter preparations. It’s a short-lived chill, but enough to remind us that the season isn’t quite finished yet.
The extended outlook, however, shows a steady and welcome warmup. Temperatures will gradually climb from the upper 50s into the 60s, eventually reaching the mid-70s as we head toward the end of the week.
A late-week cold front will deliver much-needed rainfall, sweeping through the area by Friday morning. Unlike many winter cold fronts, this system will not usher in a blast of colder air. Instead, warmer conditions are expected behind the front. That’s because this particular storm system is not tapping into cold Canadian air, allowing temperatures to rebound rather than drop.

Throughout the day tomorrow, temperatures will not get out of the 40s. Wind chills (feel-like temperatures) will feel like 30s in the afternoon.
Those readings will sit in the mid-20s again Tuesday morning, but winds will calm down. Highs will sit in the 50s. Temperatures will very slowly warm back into the 70s by the end of the week.
Our next front will arrive on Thursday, bringing another round of showers and storms that afternoon. Next weekend is looking pleasant and sunny!

- Happy Sunday! The entire area got some much-needed rain today. Two different rounds of showers and storms brought up to 1.5 inches of rainfall to the area.
Work Week: Behind this system, we will have a dry start to the week. Clouds will clear early Monday morning, leaving clear skies. The sunshine will continue on Tuesday, and those clouds don't return until the middle of the week.
Our rain chances will slowly creep back into the forecast. Stray showers will be possible starting Thursday, and the chances will keep increasing. Our best chance for measurable rain will be Friday and Saturday.
Temperatures will be well above average this week. Highs will be in the 70s by Tuesday, and will reach the 80s by Thursday. Expect lows in the 50s on Wednesday and 60s on Friday morning.
Next Weekend: Next weekend will be an overcast one. Plus, there will be several chances for showers. Temperatures are set to drop again next Sunday.

A fast-moving front will bring showers overnight into the morning hours, followed by clearing conditions. Temperatures will then cool, with highs dropping into the upper 60s from Thursday through Friday.

- The First Alert forecast is warming up, with temperatures climbing into the 70s just around the corner. Overnight lows will remain mild as well, ranging from the mid to upper 40s and into the 50s by midweek.
A weak front will brush the area midweek. Due to its orientation, it won’t bring much moisture or energy into the region. Expect increased cloud cover on Wednesday, with the chance for only a few light, spotty showers. After that, temperatures warm back up heading into the latter part of the week.
Attention then turns to Friday and the weekend, as a low-pressure system develops over the Rockies and digs southeastward into a deep trough. This system is expected to move through Alabama late Sunday morning and into early afternoon across our Georgia counties.
