- Description
- High pressure is set to rebuild across the region, sending temperatures soaring into the upper 80s and even nearing 90° by Friday and into the early part of the weekend. This warming trend will bring a taste of early summer, with plenty of sunshine dominating the forecast.
As we move into the weekend, clouds and humidity will gradually increase ahead of an approaching cool front expected Sunday into Monday. While the front will bring more cloud cover, there is currently not enough surface moisture in place to support rainfall, so dry conditions are expected to persist.
The primary impact from this front will be a slight cooldown, with temperatures easing back into the upper 70s early next week—offering a brief break from the late-week heat.
Looking ahead, the next potential chance for rain appears to arrive around the 26th of the month, when another front is expected to move through. While details are still developing, this system could bring a...

While some clouds are possible Monday and Tuesday, we are not tracking any rain in the 7 Day Forecast. - Warm-Up Underway but Rain Chances Stay Locked Away-Bob Jeswald Weather Update 4/7/2026
- Runtime
- 3:01
- Date posted
- Description
- COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-A slightly cooler but breezy and dusty Wednesday is on the way as strong high pressure continues to dominate the region. Weak fronts will attempt to move in, but they simply won’t have enough strength to push through.
Expect a mix of sun and scattered clouds through midweek, though these clouds will not produce any rainfall. Sunshine will become more dominant by the end of the week.
Morning temperatures will stay on the chilly side, dipping into the mid to upper 40s through Friday. Afternoon highs will gradually warm, reaching the mid-70s by Thursday, near 80 on Friday, and climbing into the mid-80s over the weekend.
Unfortunately, rain chances remain very limited. The next opportunities for precipitation may arrive around the 16th and 23rd, but even those systems appear weak. Strong high pressure is expected to suppress storm development, keeping meaningful rainfall out of the forecast for now.
