- We’re tracking a Weather Aware period stretching from midnight through 4 PM Thursday, and it’s one you’ll want to stay on top of as timing and impacts continue to evolve.
Right now, the leading edge of a cold front pushes into the region late Wednesday night, (GRAF, RRFS-A, and GFS all in agreement) mainly affecting areas northwest of Interstate 85 between 11 PM and shortly after midnight. From there, it gradually sags south, reaching East Alabama and West Central Georgia between about 3 and 4 AM.
Here’s where things get more concerning: repeated rounds of thunderstorms are expected to develop along and ahead of that front.
