The Global Sumud Flotilla had the stated purpose of helping Palestinians assert their right to access their coast and the world beyond it. The mission was also going to deliver life-saving aid including food, material for shelter and other essentials like baby formula, medicine and school supplies. News of Israel’s capture of the sea vessels made headlines.
At the same time, there was a land convoy comprising dozens of trucks carrying aid and reconstruction material which aimed to travel through Mauritania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya and Egypt and into Rafah. In the land convoy were doctors, engineers, teachers and a lone Indian climate activist Nikhita Naidu.

According to Breakthrough News, "The walkout was organized by Students for Justice in Palestine and No Tech for Apartheid as a protest against Google’s contracts with the IDF, Dept. of Homeland Security, and ICE."

In 2018, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made the initial announcement setting the 2022 deadline for a $5 trillion economy on September 20, 2018, during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the India International Convention and Expo Centre in New Delhi.
When that initial target passed without success, the Modi government shifted the timeline to FY 2024-25. The GDP data for FY 2025-26 released this week shows that the government has missed this deadline as well, with the country’s GDP at Rs 346.4 lakh crore which equals approximately $3.6 trillion only. In response to these missed targets, Modi and his ministers have completely stopped mentioning the five trillion-dollar goal in public forums and official briefings.

High court Justice Neena Bansal Krishna’s verdict dismantling the Modi government-run agencies’ cases caps the almost six-year-long proceedings against the independent news house that media bodies and journalists have condemned as an attack on press freedom. She pronounced her judgment on May 29 but it was made available on Wednesday (June 10).

- Giving an example, Sacco said, “I talk about after those riots and just since the BJP has taken power, that Hindu hegemony has been firing on all cylinders. And they said, this needs to be removed for the Indian edition as will be construed as inflammatory and causing religious offence. I mean, I don't think I was out of bounds to come up with a conclusion and then to be told to remove it.”
“I'm simply gonna say no to whoever, if you wanna distribute the book and you want me to do something like that, I'm going to just reject it out of hand.”
He spoke about spending three weeks in Muzaffarnagar, where he met a wide range of people, including members of the Jat and Muslim communities, victims of the riots, government officials.
