- There is a growing conspiracy at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, according to a Monday news release.
In animal parlance, a “conspiracy” is a group of lemurs, and the zoo recently welcomed a trio of ring-tailed lemur pups to its Water’s Edge Africa landscape.
The pups, who have not yet been named, were born on March 20 to two different mothers, Allagash and Rogue. However, during a chasing incident, Rogue was separated from her offspring and rejected the baby when staff members tried to reunite them. Since then, Allagash, 12, has cared for her sister’s pup as well as her own, zoo officials said.

- Skiers and snowboarders at Winter Park Ski Resort were forced to evacuate the resort's gondolas after a malfunction Sunday. In this video provided to the Denver Gazette by Jack Bronchetti, ski patrollers enter the gondola and help the trapped passengers rappel out of the stricken pod.
In total 174 people were rescued and none were hurt, according to Winter Park.
As of Dec. 24, the gondola is back open.

- Just west of Colorado Springs lies the mining town of Cripple Creek. And within that town, a beloved annual attraction that gets to open its doors early for the second straight year.
Further, Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird said this was the first time the company has been able to open multiple locations in the state before Christmas.
There are locations at Cripple Creek and Eagle. The Cripple Creek location opened Dec. 19 and the Eagle location will open Dec. 20.

- Happenings before and during the annual Festival of Lights in Colorado Springs. The parade, which city officials say typically attracts tens of thousands, saw floats dressed up in holiday lights pass down Tejon Street. The parade's theme this year was "celebrating the holiday season through the sights and sounds."
Some festivities ahead of the parade included a family fun day at the Pioneers Museum, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic winter celebration and a Tuba Christmas.
For food, several "food truck villages" were set up at the Pioneer's Museum, Platte Avenue and Tejon Street, and Kiowa Street and Tejon.

- No. 3 The Classical Academy beat No. 9 Wellington in the class 2A state title game. The final score was 42-36. The Classical Academy finishes the year undefeated with a record of 13-0.
The high-scoring affair was sealed by a late-game interception by TCA with less than a minute to play. The win is the school's first football state title.
The score went back and forth for all four quarters, with TCA taking a 21-14 lead at the half. Wellington did not go away quietly, however, and took a one-point lead late in the fourth quarter.
The Classical Academy struck back quickly with a touchdown, leaving Wellington with less than one minute on the clock. However, Wellington's hopes were dashed with the late-game interception, all but assuring TCA's historic win.
