- Riverside Fire Departments responded to multiple reports of a car submerged under water in the canal across from Carlson Dog Park in Mount Rubidoux Park off of Mission Blvd. The Fire Departments swift water rescue team quickly deployed using their rescue boat to make its way to the car. After almost an hour of search efforts there was no one located inside the vehicle.

- Hemet Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire with reports of a person trapped. Arriving units located a fully involved mobile home with 10 foot flames shooting from the roof and fire surrounding all sides of the residence. Reports to 911 dispatch advised of neighbors attempting to rescue a woman and her dog from the home. The fire was knocked down in approximately 25 to 30 minutes and according to initial reports, one resident was located deceased inside the home.

A 38-year-old Panorama City woman was in custody today after crashing into a California Highway Patrol vehicle on the eastbound
Ventura (101) Freeway in Van Nuys.
The crash was reported at 10:53 p.m. Thursday, just west of Haskell Avenue, the CHP reported.
A CHP officer, identified as C. Adams, was stopped on the right
shoulder, waiting to assist with traffic control for a construction closure when the driver of a 2013 Silver Honda Civic struck his vehicle. The construction closure was not set up yet at the time the crash occurred, the CHP said.
The Honda driver, identified by authorities as Evelyn G. Cisneros, was speeding in the No. 2 lane and lost control of her car, the CHP said. She veered sharply to the right, crossing all lanes when her car crashed into the left rear of Adams' patrol car, according to the CHP.

- A crash between an MTA bus and a car resulted in the bus being pushed onto railroad tracks and being struck by a freight train in Sun Valley.
The empty bus first collided with a car at San Fernando Road and Vineland Avenue around 1:45 a.m. Monday, fire officials said. The driver of the car ran a stop sign.
The impact pushed the bus onto the tracks, where a Union Pacific train sideswiped it. The bus was already empty at that point. The train-bus crash was captured on video.
At least three people in the car were taken to the hospital -- one in critical condition.

- A man and woman died and another woman was hospitalized with major injuries after a suspected wrong-way, DUI crash between a minivan and a car on the 605 Freeway in Irwindale early Sunday morning.
At 12:35 a.m., 21-year-old Valerie Venegas, of Whittier, drove north onto the southbound lanes of the 605 Freeway in Baldwin Park. According to the coroner’s Lt. Larry Dietz, her Honda Odyssey minivan hit a 2013 Dodge Challenger head-on, driven by Anthony Thompson Jr., 24, of Compton.
Both Venegas and Thompson were pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Dodge Challenger, 23-year-old Leticia Lopez of Los Angeles, suffered a fractured right foot and a collapsed lung in the crash.

Two people were killed when a wrong-way driver crashed into another vehicle along the 118 Freeway in Porter Ranch early Sunday, according to the CHP
The California Highway Patrol began hearing reports of a car driving west along the eastbound carpool lane of traffic at a high-rate of speed about 12:25 a.m.
About 12:30 a.m. the wrong-way driver crashed head-on into another vehicle along the eastbound side of the highway near De Soto Avenue, according to the CHP log.
The vehicles, which were mangled in the crash, were blocking three lanes and traffic was halted in the area for the Los Angeles Fire Department to respond.
It is unknown why the driver, identified only as a 30-year-old man, was heading in the wrong direction. He was killed in the incident.

Initial reports said the driver may have been traveling at speeds over 100mph before the crash. The car ended up on its roof in the NB lanes and caught fire. Burbank Police arrived on scene and assisted good Samaritans pulling the victim from the crash. Multiple people used fire extinguishers to quell the blaze before firefighters arrived. The man was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition.

- Female suspect leads San Marino Police on a reckless pursuit crashing multiple times before rolling her car and getting trapped inside.
During the pursuit she lost control and crashed into the side of a starbucks in the 2200 Block of Huntington Dr before driving off again.
The woman was conscious and breathing, but complained of pain to her head. She was taken to a hospital for treatment but the extent of her injuries were not available.

- A man was killed after hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk, then smashing into a blue pickup truck in Hancock Park while fleeing the scene of the first crash, police said.
The crash between a white utility truck and a blue pickup was reported at 12:45 a.m. in the area of Beverly Boulevard and Highland Avenue.
The impact of the crash sent the truck into a light pole, and ejected the driver.
The crash also sent a piece of flying metal through a bedroom window, hitting a baby’s crib. The child was not injured.
Investigators at the scene say the driver of the white truck ran a red light after hitting a man who was crossing the street about two miles away at Normandie Avenue just a few minutes earlier.
Both the pedestrian and driver of the blue truck – who had to be put in a neck brace before he was taken to a hospital – are expected to be OK.

The aircraft reportedly crashed in the Santa Clara River bottom near the airport, authorities said. Two people were in the aircraft and did not require medical aid, officials said. Crews on the scene reported the crash site closer to the nearby Mountain View Golf Course.
