- In the lead up to the COP21 talks on climate change here in Paris in December, there’s a lot of talk about reducing our carbon footprint – in other words the amount of CO2 we generate and which is one of the main gases involved in contributing to climate change.
But we’re also leaving a big water footprint and that's something we talk a lot less about and which deserves a bit more attention because if we don't reduce it, we going to have serious water shortages everywhere in the world.
Esther Delbourg, a French researcher on the economics of water at Ecole Polytechnique in Paris talked to RFI's Alison Hird about the real cost of water.
