- A multivehicle and Motercycle accident took place on south bound Hwy 99 at about 2:40 Saturday morning . Per witnesses, a motercycle rider was speeding and going in and out of traffic. The bike went down, rider separated with the bike becoming lodged under the front end of a limo and burst into flames. The rider was struck and ran over by a vehicle he passed nearly a mile before. The motorcycle rider was the only injury/fatality.

- a commercial structure fire of a community barber shop and barber/beauty college located off Grand and Dry Creek. The incident took place early Wednesday morning. Next door neighbor/employee stated he heard an explosion and came out of his house seeing smoke coming out of the structure. Footage includes general fire ground shots, witness/employee sot, owner sot and BC sot.
Per employee, structure was an original structure from McClellan air field that was relocated to the whre it now sits on. Per the owner, the shop was more than a barber shop, it was a community gathering place.

- Early Friday morning, per CHP, a Rancho Cordova man struck a cone in a construction zone, possibly at a high rate of speed, lost control and slid under a utility trailer. The man suffered fatal injuries. He was wearing a helmet, however, CHP is investigating to see if it was an approved helmet. It is unknown at this time if alcohol was involved.

- A fatal motorhome vs ped hit and run incident took place Friday evening in Sacramento. The drunk driver got into his moterhome, backed up and ran over a lady he knew, then pulled forward and ran over her again. Witnesses stated that her leg was twisted and mangled horribly and that her chest was caved in. SacPD stated that she has been pronounced dead. The subject was captured in the north area and charged.

- Early Saturday morning, per SacPD, a witness heard a motercycle engine roar then looked west down Pocket Rd to see sparks flying. Per SacPD, the driver of a Harley Davidson motercycle was traveling an excessive speed when he aparently lost control just past West Shore Drive. The driver was wearing a helmet, however sustained fatal injuries.

- Late Thursday evening, subjects assaulted an RT guard. SacPD stopped the train the potential subjects were on, at the Alkali Flats Light Rail Station and detained at least one subject who was uncooperative with officers. The security officer at the Alkali Flats station advised us that the assaulted guard was transported to the hospital.

- Aprox 8:30 p.m. Tuesday evening, SacCity Fire was called to a vegitation fire between the Sacramento River and the bike path off Jiboom by the water treatment plant. On arival, firefighters found a blaze burning upsloap from the beach area toward the bike path. The fire was brought under control quickly. Witnesses in the area saw a transient leaving the scene. He's described as a white male, mid 30's to to early 40's, aprox 5'8" and dark brown shoulder length hair. He was wearing blue jeans and a small dirty red backpack. SacPD Officer Gunville and area Park Rangers had detained a couple of potential suspects, however they turned out not beiing the suspect. The suspect was last seen fleeing the area running south on the bike trail from the water treatment plant area. If you have information or see anyone in the area matching this discription, you are urged to call the Sacramento Police Department or Sac City Fire.

- Early Monday morning, Sac City Fire was called to a garage fire at 1314 26th St in downtown Sacramento at aprox 2:45am. When firefighters arrived, they found a fully involved garage with several other structures threatened. Power lines arched and popped over firefighters and apparatus as they battled the blaze.

- Late Friday night, SacPD officers conduct a routine pedestrian stop. While attempting to ID the subject, he flees. Officers discovered the subject was a parolee. They believed subject fled to his house and was holding up in the atic. SWAT and negotiators were called in as officers believed they heard movement in the attic. Several rounds of gas were fired into the residence and canisters(grenades) were deployed into the attic. Tactical techniques were used to view into the attic and eventually a K9 was put in the attic to root out the subject... all to no avail. The subject was not located in the residnece.

- CHP pursuit through North Sacramento, Friday evening, ends in Foothil Farms area on Verner St. on the south side of Highway 80. CHP attempted to make a registration stop when the vehicle fled and led authorities on a lengthy pursuit. When the pursuit ended, the suspects footbailed and went over the pedestrian bridge and split in three directions. Within 20 minutes the driver was apprehended. The second suspect was found in an attic in a garage and the third suspect was found in the home of an elderly couple. Several guns, body armor and controlled substance were found in the vehicle.

The pursuit ended in a parking lot on Howe near Arden Way after the subject crashed into the median while trying to turn from Arden onto Howe. Video shows pursuit, crash and arrest as well as general scene footage. The vehicle was stolen.

- Late Sunday evening, deputies were called to a venue on Auburn Blvd. where a 21 and under dance party was taking place. Per Tim Curran of Sac Couny Sheriff Dept,, an argument broke out and a subject began firing a gun in the air, then into the crowd. At least two girls were shot. One was died and the other suffered serious gunshot wounds to the upper body and was transported to the hospital via paramedics.

- Late Sunday afternoon, a vehicle with a male and female adult occupants, was east bound Elk Grove Blvd, but turned on the SouthBound 99 on ramp, hit the right curb, then went sharply left going down an embankment, across some dirt mounds and launched into the air (fliping at some point) landing on a south bound pick up truck on the south bound 99 freeway. Both occupants of the car were killed and a female minor from the truck suffered minor injuries and was transported to the hospital via ambulance. South Bound Hwy 99 was closed for several hours while authorities investigated the incident

- As a result of improperly disposed of fireworks, one home was destroyed and the other damaged early Monday morning. Families in this Elk Grove neighborhood enjoyed an evening of fireworks and celebration the night of July 4th. Houses decorated for the occasion with "Happy Fourth Of July" banner across the garage eve and other flags and red, white and blue ribbons about. At the end of the evening, the neighbors placed their expended Safe and Sane fireworks in a trash can that was placed between the houses. Instructions indicate to soak the fireworks when disposing of them. Shortly after midnight, the contents of the trashcan caught fire. In no time at all, the fire spread to both houses, up the eves and through the attic. The video here is the result. Without the rapid response of Consumes Fire Department and assisting agencies, this blaze would have been much worse. Their were no injuries in this incident.

- Around 9:30 Saturday morning, Sac Metro Fire was dispatched to the American River, near the Mira Del Rio boat launch for an unresponsive person in the water. A full rescue operation was launched from land, water and air. It was quickly realized that this was a body recovery, not a rescue. At this time, the sircumstances are not clear of this near 30's white male's demise. It appears that he was an independent swimer in the water and unknown if alcohol was involved, per Christian Pebles, spokesman for Sac Metro Fire. Christian expressed a strong message for this Independence Day weekend..."Go in the river without a life jacket and chances are good that you will come out in a body bag."

- The older hiker found himself stuck on the ledge around 4pm Tuesday and w/out a cell phone to call for help. He yelled for hours to no avail til early this morning when someone heard him and called it in. Sac Metro Fire effected a dangerous rope rescue effort, reached the victim and lowered him to a fire boat below. Other than dehydration, the hiker had no injuries .but was transported via ambulance to the hospital.

- A major traffic collision took place early this morning on NB I-5, just before I-80. Per witnesses, a minivan, driving in the wrong direction, collided head on with a taxi cab with a full load of occupants. At least two of those occupants were transported to the hospital in critical condition.
Aparently, the brother of the minivan driver was following, got pulled over and attempted to stop traffic after the wreck occured. He was hit at aprox 60mph, flew in the air landing on his feet. He also was transported to the hospital in serious condition.

- Friday evening, a blaze broke out in a comercial structure under construction but had been sitting idle for some time. The complex was fully envolved when firefighters, from Sac Metro and Sac City Fire Departments arrived they immediately went into to defense mode utilizing ground monitors, deck guns and arial deluge. The blaze was contained in under an hour. There were no injuries.

- The call came in at 12:40 this morning for an accident that occurred on west bound HWY50 just before the North Bound I-5 interchange downtown.
A Z28 broke down on the freeway just before the interchange and was slammed into by a second vehicle. The driver of the Z28 had to be extricated and the passenger was pronounced dead on scene and had to be extricated for the coroners office.

- Shortly after midnight, calls came in for a structure fire in the south part of Sacramento on Florintown near Prichard. One structure was fully involved and others were threatened. One victim was burned and a neighbor who was trying to wet his roof suffered a major heart attack and went into full arrest. Firefighters performed CPR on scene and he was transported to the hospital. His condition was unknown at the time of this posting.

The clerk was able to put a LoJack trackable strip in the money. Officers picked up on the signal and began moving in on the suspect near Lemon Hill. Officers pinpointed the subject vehicle and aprehended the suspect while another team of officers stood ready to access a residence of intrest on Nona Way.

- SacFire and PD responded to a vehicle down an embankment this evening at 8:52PM. When firefighters arrived, they found the vehicle down a steep slope wrapped around a tree, and the tree was keeping the car from sliding further. The driver fled the scene leaving his passenger pinned in the vehicle. The passenger was pinned between the tree (that was now in the car) and the dash. Paaramedics started ALS right away during an intricate and dangerous 45 min. extrication.

- After a crowd left Ceds on Stockto Blvd, around 1:30 am Friday morning, reportedly some reckles driving in a parking lot across the street resulted in a female victim being run over and trapped under the vehicle. She was transported to UCD with major injuries.
