Units responded to a single vehicle accident into a building. Officers arrived and found that the vehicle was upside down, on fire, and the driver and passenger were standing outside the vehicle. Both subjects were burned and transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. It was found that the vehicle was driving south on Norwood, attempted to pass another vehicle and lost control. The vehicle rolled when it left the roadway. Traffic Investigators responded to the scene and alcohol may be a factor. -SacPD Daily Log

- According to the Sacramento Sheriff's Department, as of November 21st, a total of four suspects are now in custody for the murder of Antonio Macias, age 33. It happened early, the morning of Sept. 29, 2013 at the Beacon gas station on El Camino Ave. Family members arrived on the scene searching for answers. The family members are not visibly identifiable in this video, but you will see and hear as they are held back by Deputies as they attempt to breach the police line to get to the body of their loved one to see if the worst is actually true.

- Back to back weeks, violence erupts in a Midtown Sacramento parking structure behind the strip of night clubs and bars in the Lavender District. This is not new; it is very typical of weekend of nights. In the first half, we arrived and our cameras started rolling after the initial fight broke out, resulting from a purse snatch; related items were discovered in and under the white sedan. In the second half, one of the combatants engages on site security, grabbing the security guard's taser as it's deployed.. Sacramento Police tells us that in this second incident the combatants were released with no consequences for their actions and no charges were filed.

Officers responded to a domestic violence call. The suspect and his fiancé got into an argument, the fiancé put their two kids into a vehicle and decided to leave. As she left, the suspect made despondent statements, grabbed a gun and fired a round up into the air. The subject ultimately surrendered to police.

- A small group from "FreeAmericaRally" was holding a legal permitted demonstration Saturday on the west steps of the California State Capital building. When a group of "Occupiers" arrived, mounted CHP Officers along with bike and foot patrol units created a buffer between the two groups. Both groups were yelling back and forth to each other over bullhorns. When the permitted groups allotted demonstration time was up, they peacefully rolled up their banner and left toward the north side of the Capital building. When the group of occupiers began to head in that direction, mounted officers moved quickly ahead of the group, holding them at bay until the other group was safely out of the area.

- (15Min Video) A large fire broke out in a field, Saturday, July 14, 2012, north east of Downtown Sacramento in Rio Linda. When fire crews arrived, nearly ten acres had already been consumed and was making a run, crossing one creek and headed toward the next. Firefighters made a stand at the road and held the fire there. Had the fire spotted or leaped the road, it would have taken off in the next field and headed towards homes. To complicate matters, winds were moderate and the helicopter was only able to make one drop before its pump failed; rendering the air-support to be eyes-in-the-sky only.

- Saturday afternoon, Sac Metro Fire received reports of a victim under the water in the American river. Per radio reports, Metro Copter 2 quickly located the victim and orbited while boat 65 responded (already in the water near by). Witness reports were conflicting but put the victim under water for 5 to 30 minutes. Boat 65 rescued the victim and met up with Copter 2 who transported the victim rapidly to UC Davis Medical Center.

- July 5th, 2010 a family was awakened to a blaze, early in the morning, on the side of their beautiful Elk Grove home. The fire caught the common wood fence between the homes on fire and it quickly spread to both homes.
We are presently in process of followup on this incident. Our initial understanding is that this blaze was caused by expended "Safe & Sane" fireworks discarded in the trash can between the two homes. This is currently unverified.
As you use "Safe & Sane" fireworks this 4th of July season, please remember to follow the safety instructions. The instructions call for water to douse the expended devices in. The devices are only as safe as the user.

His body was later recovered in a lake near Beal Airforce Base, in 130 feet of water near the location where his empty boat was discovered. Owner of the dock, Terry Mulligan and his wife, graciously hosted the Shabnam's family in their home as divers worked the area just across the road from the home. Elk Grove PIO, Chris Trim, stated that the coroner's office still has to make the official identification, but given the description and circumstances, they are confident it is Shabnam Ahmadyar.
