- SACPD POLICE LOG: Officers responded to reports of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim suffering from a single non-life threatening gunshot injury to her leg. A preliminary investigation revealed the shooting stemmed from an altercation between two groups which escalated into the assault. One of the involved parties is believed to have fired a gun as he was fleeing the scene. Patrol officers and crime suppression units performed rapid follow up which led them to suspect Demetrius Martin, 20, who was ultimately believed to have fired a gun during the assault. The victim, in her 20s, was transported to an area hospital to be treated. This investigation continues to be ongoing as officers are attempting to identify other involved parties that were on scene during the altercation. Martin was arrested in the 1200 block of Delta Street; he was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for assault with a deadly weapon (firearm) and violation of his probation.

- Four people were stabbed in an Arden area attack and transported to the hospital Wednesday evening.
Calls started coming into 9-1-1 around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday night, Sacramento Sheriff officials said. The first call came in from an area security officer stating two males were jumped by someone from the bushes behind an apartment complex; officials say.
A third victim was discovered down in the middle of street at the end of Northrop Avenue at the end of the levy.
An off-duty deputy called in at 11:56 p.m. from Cadillac drive and had a fourth stabbing victim.
Officials state that all the attacks were probably related to the same suspects.
All the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.

- A shooting occurred just before 11:30 PM Friday night. This was the second shooting within a 2 miles in 2 hours. According to radio reports there were three victims with one likely but unconfirmed fatality. This occurred in the 7000 block of Rock Creek Way in the South Sacramento area.
OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM SACPD
On Friday, March 14, 2014, at approximately 11:19 p.m., officers responded to the 7000 block of Rock Creek Way regarding reports of a shooting with multiple victims injured.
Officers rushed to the residential neighborhood to find two male adult victims, inside a residence, with non-life threatening gunshot injuries. A third shooting victim, male in his 30s, was located in the backyard of the home and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The two victims located inside the house were transported to an area hospital and are expected to survive.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators were called to the scene.

While working directed-proactive patrol in the area, Officers from the North [Command] Gang Enforcement Team approached a group of seven subjects gathered in the area of the 2700 block of Stonecreek Drive. As officers were making contact with the group, a gun fell from one of the subject's person and another subject (later identified as Josiah Jones, 18) immediately fled on foot from officers. An officer gave chase to Jones who led police of a foot pursuit through an apartment complex. The officer heard what he believed to be a single gunshot when the suspect was briefly out of his view during the chase. The officer cautiously continued to trail the suspect who could be seen continuing to run away.
