- Just before noon Friday, the Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of a Bank Robbery at the California Bank and Trust on Arden Way, directly across from the Arden Fair Mall.
According to radio reports, arriving officers determined that a robbery at gunpoint had occurred and the suspect escaped with a large sum of cash.
Just some side notes: The robber was female, bank robberies are typically committed by males. Another significant point- this bank is located directly across from the Arden Fair Mall main entrance, probably the busiest intersection, at the busiest time on the busiest shopping day of the year.
The suspect was described as a black, female wearing all black, a black cap and carrying a black handgun. She was said to be in her 30's and fled toward Arden Way.
CSI responded to the scene to collect evidence and an investigation is ongoing.
There were no reported injuries.

- Just before 2:30 a.m. Friday, Sacramento police were alerted to reports of shots fired in the area of Glenrose Ave and Del Paso Blvd. They happened to be nearby and could see the fire from a distance.
When they arrived on the scene they realized a shed, as well as someone's home, were on fire. Police jumped into action to alert residents of the danger and help them evacuate. Firefighters were quickly on the scene, but not before the fire was upgraded to a second alarm. Power lines were also down, which added an extra hazard for firefighters.
The whole intersection was shut down while crews fought the flames. Glenrose Ave was also closed to traffic between Del Paso Blvd and Lexington St.
A second home was also damaged in the fire, but was quickly extinguished.

On November 20, 2019, at approximately 1:16 a.m., officers responded to a report of a felony assault that had occurred. The victim reported that the suspect had threatened to kill him with a hatchet. Officers began an investigation and a search for the suspect. Officers located the suspect along a canal near I-80, east of Norwood. The suspect refused to cooperate with officers, and instead attacked officers. The suspect threw a large rock, which hit an officer. Officers attempted to detain the suspect, but the suspect fled and a short foot pursuit ensued. Once officers caught up with the suspect, he continued to refuse officers’ commands. Officers discharged a conductive energy device (CED) at the suspect and attempted to take the suspect into custody. The suspect continued to resist officers as units responding to assist attempted to locate them along the canal.

Moments ago, a vehcile crashed through both rail crossing arms at the 15th Street rail crossing at R Street, adjacent to the 16th Street Light Rail Station.
Regional Transit Police are on scene controlling the crossing, and trains must sound their horns while crossing.

ELK GROVE, CA – On November 13, 2019, at 1:32 a.m., the Elk Grove Police Department responded to a single vehicle collision on Laguna Boulevard, just west of Haussman Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered that a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado had been involved in a single vehicle collision. The driver, a 27-year-old male, was found unconscious in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the driver deceased. Identification of the deceased will be made by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.
Based on information obtained during the preliminary investigation, traffic investigators have determined that the driver of the Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on Laguna Boulevard just east of Laguna Main Street when the vehicle struck the center median. On November 8th, 2019, at approximately 10:54 p.m., patrol officers responded to the intersection of Truxel Road and San Juan Road regarding a collision that had occurred. Callers also advised that shots had been fired at the scene. Officers arrived at the intersection and found two vehicles that were involved in a collision. In one vehicle, officers located an occupant with multiple gunshot wounds. That victim was declared deceased on scene. Officers located another victim, at the intersection, who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. That victim was transported to a local hospital and is currently in critical, but stable condition.
Homicide and crime scene investigators were called to the scene to take over the investigation.

- Around 12:15 a.m., Sheriff's deputies called over the radio they were in pursuit of a vehicle with four occupants in South Sacramento.
Deputies chased the vehicle throughout various parts of South Sacramento. The suspect vehicle eventually made its way on to eastbound Highway 50, with speeds over 100 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle then exited at Howe Avenue, and got back on to westbound Highway 50. The suspect vehicle then exited at 65th Street and turned southbound. The suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop and collided with a utility pole on 65th Street Expressway at 14th Avenue.
Three of the occupants fled on foot, while the fourth occupant remained in the vehicle. All three suspects were eventually caught after a perimeter was established, and a California Highway Patrol airplane directed officers into the suspects, who were hiding in some near backyards.

- At 12:04 a.m. Thursday, the Sacramento Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard near 8th Avenue.
When crews arrived, they found multiple vehicles on fire at the rear of a commercial building. Crews immediately began their fire attack, and were able to get the flames knocked down in a matter of minutes. The fire was briefly threatening some nearby electrical lines, however that was mitigated quickly.
The cause of the fire is under investigation and fire officials state they won't have a cause and origin determination any time soon. There were no injuries reported.

- At approximately 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received numerous calls of shots fired in the 3900 block of 42nd Avenue in South Sacramento. Additionally, the Communications Center received several activations from ShotSpotter, reporting multiple rounds fired in the same general location.
Deputies arrived and located a 47-year-old female victim with a gunshot wound to her upper body, who was alert and talking. Deputies also located a 29-year-old male nearby who had sustained a gunshot wound, and was unconscious. CPR was initiated by deputies on the male until fire personnel arrived. - Last night [November 5, 2019] at about 7:30 pm, Tracy Police responded to a report of shots fired in the 100 block of Brannon Dr. Officers arrived locating two victims with non-life threatening gunshot wounds. Both were transported to local area hospitals.
The suspect, Gregory Castles, 36, of Sacramento knocked on the victims doors and started firing at them when they answered. The appears to have been unprovoked however, Castles was an acquaintance of one of the victims.
Castles was located in Sacramento and arrested with the assistance of the Sacramento Police Department. A search warrant at his residence resulted in the recovery of evidence of the shooting to include what is believed to be the firearm used.
Castles was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail for attempted homicide.

- Around 9:45 a.m. Monday, Sacramento police officers responded to FOX40 on Fruitridge Road near Lawrence Drive for a reported suspicious package on the front side of the building.
Due to the location where the box was placed and not knowing the contents inside, officers set up a perimeter in the parking lot, and requested the Bomb Squad (EOD) and Hazardous Materials Team (Hazmat) to respond.
Throughout the morning, the EOD and Hazmat personnel conducted their investigation, which included setting up a portable x-ray to help determine what may be inside.
EOD and Hazmat personnel concluded the contents of the box were not explosive or dangerous around 12 p.m. A search inside the box found various items include informational papers, food items, and other things considered "junk".

At 2:08 p.m. the Sacramento Fire Department was dispatched for a reported structure fire in the 2100 block of Acoma Street in the Old North Sacramento neighborhood. Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke coming from a warehouse-type structure. A second-alarm was requested by incident command due to possible extension into a second structure. Crews worked quickly to prevent extension to the second warehouse and were able to extinguish the main structure fire. No injuries were reported and no other information is available at this time.

The caller indicated there was a vehicle that had crashed into a tree at that location and a male was waving a gun around a female. Multiple additional callers stated a male and female were in a verbal altercation and had walked back and forth to a nearby apartment complex.
At approximately 12:40 a.m., deputies arrived on scene and attempted to make contact with a female standing near an apartment. As they approached the female, a male began shooting at the female, striking her. Three (3) deputies fired their weapons at the male suspect, who was struck by the deputies’ gunfire. - Thursday afternoon, multiple law enforcement vehicles escorted the body of fallen El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Deputy, Brian Ishmael, from the Sacramento County Coroner's Office to a funeral home in Elk Grove.
We were fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time, capturing a portion of that trip on our cameras.

A little before 11:30 p.m. on October 22, 2019, the Sacramento Sheriff’s Communication Center received a call regarding a female assaulting a male in the 6800 block of 65th Street in Sacramento.
Deputies arrived at the scene and located an unidentified male victim unresponsive on the ground with injuries to the upper body. Deputies immediately began life saving measures. Sacramento Metro Fire responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The unidentified female suspect fled the scene on foot. There is no known motive at this time. Homicide detectives are on-scene and their investigation is on-going. No further information is available at this time.
The identity of the deceased victim in this case will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office after notification of next of kin.

- Just after 2 a.m. Saturday, police and fire crews were dispatched to Q and 15th Streets for reports of a rollover vehicle accident with entrapment.
When crews arrived, they found one vehicle, on it's wheels with obvious rollover damage and airbags deployed, on Q street, just west of 15th Street. The other vehicle was on 15th Street, just south of Q Street with major front end damage.
According to witnesses, the rolled vehicle was traveling the wrong way (westbound) on Q Street, and came through the intersection and struck by the vehicle traveling south on 15th Street. Witnesses told PSN that the wrong-way vehicle flipped end-over-end several times.
No one was transported to the hospital in this incident. One occupant in the rolled over vehicle had a minor injury to his hand.
DUI was not considered to be a factor in this incident.

- SUMMARY: When crews arrived, they found a Kia Soul halfway inside glass panels on the front of the building.
The driver was the only person inside of the vehicle. After being medically cleared by paramedics, police officers conducted a field sobriety test on the driver. The driver was eventually placed into handcuffs and taken into custody.

- SUMMARY: When fire crews arrived, they found the second-story unit of the home on fire. Firefighters were able to get the flames extinguished within a matter of minutes. The first-story unit of the home sustained some damage from the fire.
A fire department spokesperson says a person suffering from either second-degree or third-degree burns was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The person was a civilian, not a firefighter.

- On Friday, August 2, 2019, at approximately 9:04 p.m., officers from the Sacramento Police Department were called to the 2600 block of 5th Street regarding a shooting.
Officers arrived and located a 37-year-old male with several gunshot wounds. Officers administered first aid until relieved by fire department personnel. Despite life saving measures, the male did not survive his injuries.
Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators have been called to the scene to take over the investigation. At this time, a motive for the shooting has not been determined. Based on preliminary information related to this investigation, detectives believe this is an isolated incident.
The identity of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office once next of kin has been notified.
