Just before 2:30 this morning, the Sacramento Fire Department was dispatched to reports of a fire at Amtrak.
As Battalion One arrived, according to radio reports, from a distance he could see the fire on a rooftop of one of the old warehouse buildings in the railyards area.
Apparatus had to access the facility from the new Railyards Road.
Accessing the fire was difficult and water supply was an issue as well.
Crews were finally able to get water on the fire from the inside of the warehouse.
According to fire radio traffic, a dead owl was located in the warehouse near the fire area and may have caused a short in some wiring.
Crews are still on scene making sure the fire is completely extinguished.
