"Sacramento County Sheriff Deputies located a potentially armed and dangerous suspect in a vehicle. As deputies attempted to contact the suspect, he fled in the vehicle at high rates of speed. CHP airplane (Air-21) continuously updated sheriff dispatch as the suspect vehicle fled at extreme speeds placing the public at significant risk. This pursuit continued around the north Sacramento area, before the driver was taken into custody."

- Sacramento Fire responded to reports of a commercial fire near the intersection of J St and 24th St around 4 a.m. Thursday morning.
This was the result of a transient warming fire that caught the building on fire and extended into part of the building.
Fire crews got a quick knockdown on the main part of the fire and switched to overhaul mode.
They had to tear into the entry overhang to make sure all the fire was out.
An arson investigator was also requested to the scene.

- According to radio reports, a deputy attempted to execute a routine traffic stop on a vehicle in Antelope when the vehicle took off and a pursuit ensued.
The pursuit was high-speed with speeds averaging 90 to 100 MPH on surface streets throughout Antelope, Citrus Heights and North Highlands.
During the course of the pursuit, it was realized that the driver had a felony warrant.
The pursuit was eventually terminated at Antelope Rd and Auburn Blvd.

On November 16, 2021 at 10:20 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 2600 block of 5th Street for a report of a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located two victims who each sustained at least one gunshot wound. One victim, an adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. Officers performed emergency medical aid on a second victim, an eight-year-old female, who was transported by fire personnel to a hospital in critical condition. She later tragically succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators have responded to take over the investigation. Detectives will be undertaking extensive efforts to process the scene, canvass the area, and contact witnesses. This investigation is in its early stages and information is limited. - Just before 2 a.m., Monday, Sacramento Fire Department's Engine 56 crew was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire in the 6500 block of Vernace Way in the South area of Sacramento.
When the crew arrived on scene, they found a small utility van fully engulfed in flames with the rear doors open.
Firefighters tell PSN that this is the third similar vehicle fire in the same spot in the past couple of months. A nearby resident has reinsurance video showing the subject staging the vehicle earlier during the day then coming back that evening to set the fire.
At this time, the suspect remains at large and was seen walking away from the burning van wearing a reflective vest.
There were no injuries reported.

This time, we look back at a major crash in downtown that occurred early on Halloween morning.
Here's the original story:
Just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a major accident at J Street and 16 Street.
When crews arrived they found two demolished vehicles up on the sidewalk of the northeast corner of the intersection.
Several victims were on the ground being tended to by bystanders and one person was trapped.
The Sacramento Fire Department declared an MCI (Multi Casualty Incident) due to the number of patients, for resources.
There were 6 patients; four with moderate injuries and two with minor injuries, according to radio reports.

- Early this morning around 3 a.m., Sacramento Fire responded to an overturned vehicle along Fee Drive.
It appeared the vehicle was traveling along Highway 160 when it went off the roadway and through a fence, landing upside down on the road.
The female driver was transported to the hospital, in unknown condition.
No other vehicles were involved.
Unknown if drugs or alcohol played a factor, however there was heavy fog in the area during this time.

According to radio traffic, this incident also involved an abduction and there is an active Amber Alert in place.

"Officers responded to a report of a robbery at a bank. The suspect, who was possibly armed with a firearm, demanded money from a bank employee. Officers located the suspect vehicle which fled and led officers on a vehicle pursuit. The pursuit was discontinued but officers searched the area located the vehicle unoccupied near a field in Yolo County.
"Officers established a perimeter with assistance from outside agencies. While searching the area, officers located one suspect who was taken into custody with assistance from a Sacramento Police Department K9. The suspect received treatment for minor injuries sustained during the K9 apprehension and was later booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail for charges related to the robbery.

- About 2 a.m., Sacramento Police received reports of a possible burglary in progress at a large construction site on North B and North 7th Streets, where a gate was rammed as well.
Shortly thereafter, officers became involved in a pursuit with a blue older model pickup truck which was possibly related. The truck's plate also revealed that it was stolen.
At one point, the driver of the pickup turned wrong way on X Street, running into a parked vehicle on X between 14 and 15th Streets. The suspect then ran from the vehicle and subsequently suffered dog bite wounds after a SacPD K9 unit latched onto his forearm.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance for treatment of his wounds and to be medically cleared to book into the Sacramento County Main Jail.

- Just before 1 a.m. Monday, officers from the Sacramento Police Department became engaged in a low-speed pursuit with a vehicle in the area of Broadway and 59th Street.
At speeds around 15 miles per hour, the pursuit continued south to 14th Avenue then west. The suspect entered southbound highway 99 at 12th Avenue and continued south to Calvine at speeds around 75 miles per hour according to police radio traffic.
The suspect lead officers off the freeway at Calvine then continued over to Franklin Blvd. The pursuit then headed northbound Franklin, at speeds around 60, all the way to Broadway.

At approximately 10:03 p.m. on Sunday, November 7, 2021, the Sheriff’s Communications Center received several calls from citizens near the 7200 block of Palmer House Drive in Sacramento County stating they heard gunshots and could see a subject lying in the street.
Upon arrival, deputies located one adult male who sustained at least one gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding personnel from Sacramento Metro Fire.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence. No further information or suspect information is available at this time.

On November 6, 2021 at approximately 10:13 p.m. Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a robbery that was occurring in an apartment located in the 2200 block of River Plaza Drive. The occupants of the apartment were having a small gathering of people when two suspects entered and began the robbery. They were reported to have been armed with firearms. Officers arrived on scene while the suspects were still inside of the apartment. As officers began to approach the apartment one suspect fled from the apartment and was immediately taken into custody by officers. The second suspect was able to gain access into an adjoining apartment that was also occupied. The occupants of both apartments were able to escape to awaiting officers. Bystanders tell PSN that they witnessed a female transient crawling across J Street when they saw a blue Dodge Ram pickup truck run her over.
Bystanders stated that some ladies yelled at the occupants of the truck to stop, that they just ran her over, but they took off eastbound on J Street.
Bystanders began CPR and paramedics took over when they arrived on scene.
Despite everyone's lifesaving efforts, she was declared deceased on scene.
J Street is closed from 28th Street as officers investigate and search for the pickup truck.

- Just before 6 P.M. Saturday, the Sacramento Fire Department and CHP responded to reports of a vehicle vs structure in the 6600 block of Steiner Drive in the south area of Sacramento.
When crews arrived, they found a vehicle up on the lawn of the corner house. The vehicle hit the gas meter causing a gas leak, and caused minor damage to the house.
One person was transported to the hospital with what appears to be minor injuries, via AMR ambulance.
Chimas towing removed the vehicle and PG&E replaced the meter.

- Sacramento Police, Sacramento Sheriff, and California Highway Patrol are on scene at a pursuit termination on Atlas Ave and 28th St.
This is one of at least three pursuits that have occurred in the Sacramento area tonight.
The first was the result of a burglary that officers were responding to. Officers saw two involved vehicles leaving the area.
When officers attempted to pull the vehicles over, they sped off and a pursuit started.
One of the pursuits was quickly dropped off, but the other continued. Eventually, the pursuit ended near Howe Ave and La Riviera Drive.

- At about 9:15 P.M. the Sacramento Police Department received a report of a possible gunshot victim in a tent off of Northgate Blvd. north of Del Paso Blvd.
When officers arrived they found a male with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, from an apparent makeshift gun according to radio reports.
The victim was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance under CPR.
At the time of this posting, officers have a crime scene established around the tent and 50 feet out in each direction. A significant police presence and vehicles are on the roadway as they investigate. Use caution in the area.

- Just after 1:30 P.M. Friday the Sacramento Police Department received multiple hold-up alarm activations from the F&M Bank in the 1300 block of J Street, according to radio reports. A few minutes later, a representative from the bank called and confirmed that they had indeed been robbed.
The male suspect handed a note to a teller stating he had a gun, though no gun was seen. The suspect did get away with cash, fleeing east on J street then north on I Street on foot.
Investigators are now at the bank as CSI documents and collects evidence. No further details are available at this time.

- Just after midnight Thursday morning, the Sheriff's Department, Police Department, and Fire Department were dispatched to reports of a stabbing incident. The incident occurred on 33rd Avenue east of Franklin Blvd.
One victim was located and transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with lights and siren. The victim was in stable but serious condition according to reports, with several stab wounds to the lower and upper body as well as the head.
CSI was dispatched to the scene and an investigation is underway.

- The Dixie Fire was declared fully contained this week after Northern California has its historic storm that drenched the area on Sunday.
Many other California wildfires were declared contained after the storm as well including the Caldor Fire in El Dorado County and the River Complex in Trinity and Siskiyou counties.
This could likely mean the end of the 2021 fire season in California, but we are still far off from being out of the drought.
Here is a look back at the Dixie Fire, which burned 963,309 acres in Butte, Plumas, Lassen, Tehama, and Shasta counties. The fire burned from July 13th to October 25th, over 100 days.

Sacramento Metro Fire and California Highway Patrol responded to the scene and blocked off two lanes of Watt Ave near Airbase Drive.
One person was transported to a local hospital.
According to CHP, the cause was a large amount of roadway flooding just before the spot where the accident occurred.
In addition, many stop lights in the area were shut off.
SMUD is in the area working to restore power.

- Just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a Sacramento Police Officer called out on the radio that he had "on viewed" (witnessed or came upon), an accident at the intersection of 12th and I Streets in downtown Sacramento.
This intersection has been the site of many major collisions in recent years. At least two fatal wrecks that we here at PSN have covered and two with vehicles crashing into the dining room of the restaurant on the southwest corner.
We weren't able to confirm, but this accident appears to be the result of a wrong-way, DUI driver.
Amazingly no one was injured in this wreck that had southbound 12th Street shut down with debris across all lanes.
The wrong-way driver was given a field sobriety test and subsequently was taken into custody.

- Just after 1 P.M. Friday, Officers in the area of Lampasas Ave. and Rio Linda Blvd. spotted a vehicle fire erupting behind a restaurant adjacent to the Valero Gas station.
In the short time it took the officers to get over to the vehicle, it was fully engulfed and they could not see if anyone was inside. A few moments later the owner of the vehicle came out of the restaurant and confirmed no one should have been in the vehicle.
As Engine 17 arrived and began to extinguish the blaze officers began to get reports that indicated arson was a factor, according to radio traffic.

Upon arrival, fire crews found fire on the second and thirds floors.
CHP was requested to shut down traffic on Scripps Drive and eastbound University Ave from Howe Ave.
A second and third alarm were eventually struck to bring in additional resources to the scene.
Firefighters got onto the roof for vertical ventilation.
The main body of fire was knocked down within 20 minutes, but crews still struggled with fire through the roof.
There are no reports of any injuries and fire has been knocked down at this time.

- A traffic collision on a busy street left two people injured and one dead. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to police who are investigating this tragic accident with detectives taking over as they process evidence from all vehicles involved.
The incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, shutting down all but northbound traffic at the busy Fruitridge Road and Power Inn Road Intersection. Details as to how the incident occurred, have not yet been released.
Early, unconfirmed reports indicate that the tow truck was eastbound Fruitridge Road making a left hand (northbound) turn onto Power Inn Road, and the other vehicle was moving westbound on Fruitridge road.

On October 17, 2021, at approximately 9:10 p.m. Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 5500 block of 27th Avenue for a reported shooting that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they located one adult male who had sustained at least one gunshot wound lying in the street. The male was transported to a local hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel. - Just before midnight Friday night, California Highway Patrol reported that a subject spray-painted a wall on the Capitol building then left on a skateboard.
The subject spray-painted "MIWOK LAND" in large black letters. The vandalism was done to the gray granite wall to the left of the entrance on the west side of the California State Capitol Building.
According to the California Department of Parks and Recreation, "The people who settled in this area many centuries ago are now referred to as the Northern Sierra Miwok. They established their villages alongside the rivers and streams of the Sierra Nevada from the Cosumnes River on the north to the Calaveras River on the south."

- A vegetation fire broke out in the American River Parkway area of Sacramento this afternoon. The flames ripped through thick vegetation, spewing black smoke into the sky as it spread across the parkway between Garden Highway and the American River, east of Discovery Park.
Spot fires did break out on the south shore of the river, but crews, aided by water drops from Metro Fire's helicopter, quickly brought those flames under control.
The fire started around 4:15 PM on Thursday afternoon south of Garden Highway. Garden Highway was traffic-jammed due to the influx of onlookers.
Fortunately, one home was threatened by this blaze and firefighters were able to protect the home and stop it before it did any damage.
SMUD was on scene quickly working on power lines. We do not have official details yet to verify if this was the cause, but we will update this post when/if those details become available.

A little after 4 p.m, reports started coming in on a small plane that had crashed in the Wilton area of Sacramento County.
The plane crashed along Alta Mesa Rd, just south of Blake Rd.
Four people inside were critically injured.
Luckily bystanders helped to get the passengers out as the plane caught on fire.
Wilton Fire Protection District, Cosumnes Fire, and Sac Metro Fire assisted in the fire and rescue efforts.
Three people were transported by ground ambulances and one person was air lifted to the hospital.
