On Thursday, December 30, 2021, at approximately 5:44 p.m., our Sheriff’s Communications Center received a call in 4700 block of Roosevelt Avenue regarding a shooting that just occurred.
Deputies responded and located an adult male suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Deputies performed life-saving measures while fire personnel responded. The subject was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
Homicide detectives and Crime Scene investigators responded to the scene, interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence. Based on preliminary investigation, our detectives believe that this is an isolated incident and the victim was targeted. We do not believe there is a threat to the neighborhood or surrounding community. No further information or suspect information is available at this time.

- Crews are cleaning up after a vehicle accident on northbound Interstate 5 between Richards Blvd and J St.
According to CHP, the pickup truck slammed into the center divider, and then caught fire.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle prior to fire's arrival, and there were no serious injuries.
A field sobriety test was given to the driver, unknown if they were actually DUI at this point.

- Just after 1:30 A.M. Saturday, the Sacramento Fire and Police Departments responded to 3820 Broadway for reports of a vehicle vs structure.... AGAIN. This is the tenth time the relatively young building has been struck. Just a few weeks ago, a vehicle, out of control, crashed into the building, and caught fire inside the building, trapping and burning the driver alive.
The driver of this incident was issued a field sobriety test and was subsequently arrested.
The building suffered minor damage, right next to a trapped off section of the wall already awaiting repairs.

On December 24, 2021, at 6:00 P.M., the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a call from an adult male subject who stated they were the victim of carjacking while leaving work at the 9800 block of Business Park Drive in the City of Rancho Cordova. - Deputies under fire, return fire, striking a wanted carjacking suspect in the Carmichael area of Sacramento County, Christmas Eve.
About 6 P.M. Friday evening, an all units broadcast went out for a BOLO (Be On the Look Out) for a vehicle that was carjacked at gunpoint in Rancho Cordova. The vehicle was described as 2019, black, Ford Explorer, according to radio traffic. A subsequent broadcast advised units that an item in the vehicle was trackable and it was being tracked in the area of Eastern Avenue and Arden Way.
As deputies continued to track the vehicle to an apartment complex near El Camino Ave and Walnut Ave., the man ran down the street near the Mountain Mikes Pizza where he attempted to carjack a second vehicle.
At about 6:40 P.M. a shots fired broadcast went on the Sheriff’s channels.

- Sacramento Fire crews are on scene of a 2 alarm, residential structure fire on Garden Highway. The structure was made up of a main house (right) and a granny-flat (left), joined together.
When the first engine arrived, the main house was already well involved. With no hydrant water supply, crews had to make a defensive attack and conserve tank water until water tenders arrived and a water shuttle operation could be established.
The main structure suffered a total collapse.
Firefighters were able to defend and save the granny-flat.
To our knowledge, no injuries were reported and the where abouts of the occupants was unknown.
This is a developing story and we will update with official details as soon as they become available to us.

On December 17, 2021, shortly after 10:45 p.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the area of 20th Street and K Street regarding a report that a subject had been shot. When officers arrived at the scene, they located one victim in the street who sustained at least one life-threatening gunshot wound. Officers arrived on scene and attempted to render aid. Despite their efforts the victim, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.
Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators responded to take over the investigation and will be conducting a thorough canvass of the area for witnesses and evidence. The investigation is in its early stages and the motive is unknown, however it is believed that there was some type of disturbance between two groups that escalated into the shooting. - Just before 1 A.M. Friday, crews from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 11000 block of Gold Hill Court, located in the Sutter Village neighborhood of Rancho Cordova.
On the first engine's arrival, they reported smoke and flames were coming through the roof of the structure and initiated fire attack. They had a preliminary report that everyone was out of the home, and a search by additional responding crews confirmed that.
As the fire attack continued, the incident commander noted that the right/front corner of the garage roof was beginning to sag, and pulled crews out of that area. Crews also confirmed that they had an active attic fire, according to radio reports.
The home suffered extensive damage, displacing the family. A fire investigator was dispatched to determine the cause and origin of the fire. No injuries were reported.

- Just before 9 P.M. Monday, the Sacramento Fire Department responded to the area of Del Paso Road at Carey Road for a vehicle stranded in flood waters.
When Engine 14 arrived they assisted the driver to safety, according to the department's spokesperson.
California Highway Patrol shut the road down in both directions with barriers; however, as soon as officers departed the area, drivers continued to plunge their vehicles through the flooded area.

- Late Sunday morning, Sacramento Fire and Police Departments responded to reports of a vehicle through a block wall and overturned through the backside of a residence in the 1500 block of Strader Avenue. The vehicle crashed through the wall on the Marysville Blvd. side of home.
The driver of the vehicle had to be extricated and appeared to be awake and talking with firefighters.
He was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with what appeared to be minor to moderate injuries.
Bystanders told PSN that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Arcade Blvd., at guestimated speeds of 80 mph, went through the New Arcade Market parking lot, crossed Marysville Blvd and crashed through the wall.
No other injuries were reported.

- Just after 1 A.M. Monday, crews from the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department responded for a ringing fire alarm at Sheldon High School. When they arrived on scene, they conducted an investigation and found that they had a working fire in the attic of the building adjacent to the athletic field.
The on-scene captain immediately requested a full commercial assignment to be dispatched. A short time later that was escalated to a 2nd Alarm response, according to radio traffic.
At the time of this report, crews have the entire ridge-line of the building opened up and the fire under control.
An investigator has been dispatched to the scene as well as SMUD. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.

They arrived to find a large mobile home to the rear of the property, fully engulfed in flames.
No hydrants were close by, so crews had to shuttle water in with water tenders.
Nearby residents told firefighters there may have been people inside the structure at the time.
At of now, crews have located anyone inside.

Early Sunday morning, DUI driver launches his vehicle and lands in the 2nd tier of the water fountain adjacent to the California Highway Patrol Headquarters in Sacramento's River District.
Just before 1 A.M. Sunday, the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a vehicle into the fountain on North 7th Street near Vine. When crews arrived, they found a vehicle had launched in the air and landed up in the second tier of the fountain adjacent to the California Highway Patrol Headquarters.
While the driver stated he was only traveling at about 35MPH and had only one drink at "London", officers on scene guestimated that he had to be going speeds in excess of 65 mph for the vehicle to land where it did.

Jointly, Sacramento Police Department and California Highway Patrol monitored the activity and snagged participating reckless drivers as they exited the respective sideshow areas. Some of the locations were off of National Drive, Palmer Driver at Florint Road, and Delta Shores area (to name a few).
We caught up with CHP on National Drive and SacPD on Florin and Stockton (from the Florin and Palmer House occurrence).

“Officers are on scene of a barricaded person in a residence in the area of Ammolite Way and Tusk Way. We are asking residents on Ammolite Way and surrounding streets to stay inside their homes...,” Elk Grove Police Department stated.

On November 29, 2021 around 11:50 a.m., Sacramento Police Department patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Lampasas Avenue regarding a report of a shooting. At the scene, officers located an adult male and adult female who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The male was transported to a hospital with serious injuries and the female was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Officers also contacted another adult female who sustained what appeared to be a graze wound that did not require hospitalization.
Due to the severity of the victim’s injuries, homicide detectives responded to take over the investigation. Detectives and crime scene investigators conducted a thorough canvass of the area for evidence and witnesses. Several hours later while detectives were still processing the scene, they learned that the male victim succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.

- Just before 6:30 P.M. Saturday, Sacramento Fire Department and Regional Transit Police responded to reports of a vehicle vs train incident at the intersection of 9th and O Streets in Downtown Sacramento.
Train passengers stated that the southbound vehicle on 9th Street ran a red light and struck the westbound light rail train on O Street.
No injuries were reported in the incident. Southbound traffic on 9th Street was blocked until the scene was cleared.

- About 10:15 p.m. Thursday, the Sacramento Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of a carjacking with injuries.
When officers arrived at the Motel 6 on Jibboom in Sacramento's River District, they found a woman on the ground beside a white SUV that had front-end damage.
According to radio reports, the suspect fled with the victim's light blue Toyota Camry after backing into another vehicle in the parking lot and striking the victim, according to radio reports.
The victim appeared to have a broken leg and was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance with what appeared to be moderate injuries.

- Earlier tonight around 7:30 p.m., Sacramento Police and Fire responded to a vehicle that had struck a pedestrian along Norwood Ave.
The details of the crash are not known at this time.
We can confirm that the pedestrian was taken the hospital in grave condition according to radio traffic.
Traffic was shut down in the area but has since resumed.

- We don't have many details but what we do know is, a subject was involved in some sort of domestic depute.
At one point, according to radio traffic, the subject attempted to run her off the road in her Chrysler 300.
When officers arrived in the area the subject went into the house and reportedly hid in the attic. Later, the family let officers know that he had come out and was hitting fences from backyard to backyard, according to radio traffic
Officers set up a perimeter and kept containment, as California Highway Patrol's fixed-wing aircraft located the subject with their inferred camera.
While air support kept an eye on the subject as officers tightened the perimeter. Eventually, officers were able to gain access to the backyard where he was hiding and safely took him into custody without further incident.

- Right about 3 a.m. Wednesday, the West Sacramento Police and Fire Departments along with American Medical Response Ambulance (AMR), responded to reports of a motorcycle vs residential structure.
When crews arrived, they found a motorcycle and rider through the front living room wall of the home. In addition, somehow, the rider threaded the bike right in between two vehicles in the driveway.
The rider was extracted from the home and transported to the hospital with moderate to severe injuries. No further details are available at this time. We will post updates as additional information becomes available.

- About 1:30 A.M. Tuesday, a Sacramento Police Officer was flagged down at the Valero gas station on Fruitridge and Franklin, by a person who's vehicle was stolen just stolen.
Officers acted quickly and located the vehicle going northbound on Highway 99. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, the suspect took off and a pursuit ensued.
Exiting the freeway at 12th Avenue going east, the pursuit continued through the neighborhood until the suspect crashed the vehicle into a telephone poll at the corner of 36th Street and 16th Avenue. He then ran from the vehicle, south on 36th where officers were able to catch up with him and took him into custody.
The suspect sustained a laceration to his head and was transported to the hospital via paramedic ambulance in custody.
The vehicle was totaled.

- Welcome back to another Virtual Ride Along, where we show behind the scenes footage from a previous incident in Sacramento.
This time, we look back at a police chase we were able to get right up close to, that ended at Franklin Blvd and Broadway. The suspect was bit by a police K-9 and taken into custody.
Here's the original story:
Just before 1 a.m. Monday, officers from the Sacramento Police Department became engaged in a low-speed pursuit with a vehicle in the area of Broadway and 59th Street.
At speeds around 15 miles per hour, the pursuit continued south to 14th Avenue then west. The suspect entered southbound highway 99 at 12th Avenue and continued south to Calvine at speeds around 75 miles per hour according to police radio traffic.
The suspect lead officers off the freeway at Calvine then continued over to Franklin Blvd. The pursuit then headed northbound Franklin, at speeds around 60, all the way to Broadway. <...

- Multi-Agency Pursuit Ends With K9 Bite

- About midnight Sunday morning, a Citrus Heights Officer (CHPD) was executing a traffic stop when the vehicle fled from the officer.
The suspect lead CHPD units on a high-speed chase throughout parts of Citrus Heights and Antelope, with the suspect going on the wrong side of the road at times.
After running the vehicle plate, the dispatcher advised units that the registered owner of the vehicle had multiple felony warrants.
As the pursuit left CHPD jurisdiction, deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office (SSD) took over the pursuit.
With an SSD K9 unit in the first position (which is standard procedure for pursuits in the event the suspect bails out and starts to run, the dog is deployed) and additional units trailing; the suspect was heading west on El Camino, south of Watt Avenue when a deputy deployed a spike strip with a good puncture on the right rear tire.

- About 1:45 A.M. Saturday, crews from the Sacramento Fire Department responded to reports of a residential structure fire in the 2900 block of Clay Street, which is in the South Hagginwood neighborhood of Northern Sacramento.
There were initial reports of a person still in the home.
When crews arrived they found an older model, single-story home with fire coming from the carport area and possibly extending into the attic.
Fire crews also reported access issues due to multiple dogs on the property.
Firefighters made an initial attack on the fire, according to radio traffic, and were able to quickly extinguish the fire.
No one was found in the structure. There were no reports of injury.
Investigators were called to the scene, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

- Driver Arrested After Violent Crash in Sacramento

- Sacramento Police are on scene following a violent crash along Freeport Blvd that occurred about an hour ago.
The crash caused one to vehicle roll over, trapping the driver.
According to witnesses, an officer and two bystanders were able to open a door and get the driver out prior to the fire departments arrival. That driver was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.
The other vehicle involved caught fire shortly after the crash.
There were four people in the vehicle, but three of them fled the scene, leaving the driver behind.
A bystander says they could smell alcohol from the driver. That driver was taken into custody a short time later.
There is debris scattered over a large area, expect the area to be slow moving until crews can clear the scene.

Luckily, no one was injured in this crash, but both cars were totaled.

- Just before 11:30 p.m., Thursday, deputies from the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office became engaged in a high-speed pursuit of a subject who took off on them during the course of routine traffic stop.
During the course of the pursuit throughout the Antelope and Citrus Heights areas of Sacramento County, deputies discovered that the driver of the vehicle had an outstanding felony warrant.
At one point during the pursuit, the subject vehicle became trapped when he turned into the back driveway of the Geico Insurance office on Madison Ave.
A felony stop was executed and the subject was taken into custody without further incident.
