- Description
- Freshman pitcher Alexis Jensen has emerged as the perfect complement to senior ace Jordy Frahm, giving Nebraska softball one of the nation’s most dominant pitching duos as the Huskers prepare for the Super Regionals.
The two Nebraska natives have combined to lead the Huskers to a school-record 24-game winning streak and the first home Super Regional in program history.
For opposing coaches, finding a way to beat both pitchers has become one of the toughest challenges in college softball.
“You’ve got to do something special offensively,” Grand Canyon head coach Shanon Hays said after Nebraska eliminated the Lopes in the Lincoln Regional final. “They’re two of the best in the business.”
Jensen was outstanding throughout the regional round. In Nebraska’s opener against South Dakota, the Gretna native allowed just one run on two hits across five innings before Frahm recorded her nation-leading 11th save.

- Nebraska baseball’s regular season was filled with milestones, sweeps and record-breaking performances, but inside the clubhouse, the Huskers point to one thing above all else: leadership.
The Huskers finished the regular season with more than 40 wins, eight series sweeps and the most Big Ten conference victories in program history. Nebraska dominated both at home and on the road, sweeping five conference series at Hawks Field while also taking care of rivals like Creighton.
Along the way, the team delivered dramatic walk-off wins, saw head coach Will Bolt surpass 200 career victories and watched star infielder Dylan Carey break the program’s all-time doubles record while emerging as a national player of the year candidate.
But for Bolt, the biggest factor behind Nebraska’s success has been the team’s veteran core.
“It’s hard to fathom how much these guys have given,” Bolt said. “The guys that came in together took on ...

- Nebraska softball opened NCAA Regional play Friday night with a hard-fought 4-1 win over South Dakota at a sold-out Bowlin Stadium.
Hosting a regional for the first time since 2013, the top-seeded Huskers were tested early by a confident Coyotes squad that refused to back down.
The game began as a pitching duel between two Nebraska prep standouts — Gretna native and Big Ten Freshman of the Year Alexis Jensen for Nebraska and Lincoln product Madison Evans for South Dakota. Both pitchers carried no-hitters into the fourth inning.
South Dakota struck first when center fielder Autumn Iversen launched a solo home run to open the fourth inning, giving the Coyotes a 1-0 lead.
Nebraska threatened immediately in the bottom half of the inning after loading the bases with no outs, but Evans escaped the jam with two pop outs and a strikeout of Emmerson Cope to preserve the lead.
The Huskers finally broke through in the fifth inning...

- The Nebraska baseball team is looking to bounce back after a difficult weekend at Ohio State, where the Huskers were swept in a three-game series.
Nebraska entered that series ranked No. 16 nationally but has since dropped to No. 25 in the D1Baseball poll and No. 24 in the coaches poll.
The shift in rankings carries postseason implications, as the top 16 teams in the country typically host an NCAA regional. While that goal remains within reach, the Huskers will likely need a strong finish to the regular season.
Nebraska begins that push this weekend with its final home series at Haymarket Park against Iowa.
“Kind of just flushing it and leaving it in Ohio,” Short Stop Dylan Carrey said. “There’s no reason to think about it when we’re at home and have an opportunity this next week.”
The Huskers emphasized regrouping after the series, focusing on both corrections and positives.

The fourth-seeded Supernovas will face top-seeded Indianapolis in a single-elimination matchup Thursday night in Dallas. The two teams split their regular-season series, each winning twice.
“I think every single match that we’ve played, we’ve felt like the underdog, at least in the second half of the season,” outside hitter Brooke Nuneviller said. “But we also know we have so much talent and a group that can take it to the last point and win it.”
Despite the lower seed, Omaha remains confident in its ability to compete with one of the league’s top teams.
“I love our matchup with Indy,” Outside Hitter Sarah Parsons said. “It’s always competitive. It’s going to come down to who stays clean and executes better.”

- Nebraska softball’s historic regular season has been defined as much by its mindset as its results.
After securing the program’s first outright Big Ten regular-season title with a 23-1 B1G record, the Cornhuskers are carrying a steady, businesslike approach into the postseason, according to head coach Rhonda Revelle.
“It feels good,” Revelle said of the championship. “But we’ve just had this business about us all year. We’re just trying to win pitches and win another game.”
That approach has fueled one of the most consistent stretches in program history. No. 2 Nebraska (43-6) has surged through the second half of the season with an 18-game winning streak and a dominant run through conference play, building confidence without losing focus.
Even in the moment of clinching the title, Revelle said the team’s reaction reflected its personality.
“There was a real calmness, a real peacefulness about it...
