- Las Vegas police are providing new video from body-worn camera footage during an officer-involved shooting at a local Walmart that left one person dead.
The incident took place on Tuesday at the Walmart store near Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue.
During a briefing held Friday afternoon, police provided video that allegedly shows the suspect, 35-year-old Travis Ward, entering the business and shooting a man before running out of the store.

Hopkins said NV Energy recently emailed all Southern Nevada customers to explain daily demand and provide a snapshot comparing what a customer’s bill looked like in May and what it would look like in May after daily demand.

- After months of uncertainty, the Primm Valley Casino reopened just after noon, bringing customers back through the doors and restoring jobs for hundreds of employees in Primm.
In early May, Affinity announced plans to close Primm by July 4. That changed after the Primm family reached an agreement with Terrible’s to take over operations. The casino reopened in less than three weeks.
Rosa Diaz, a 31-year employee, was among those grateful to see the casino return. Diaz is one of 344 employees who work in Primm, and she said she is thankful to see so many familiar faces again — and that she can keep her job and her home.
Interim General Manager Mark Bennett said employees like Diaz were a major reason the Primm Valley Casino was able to reopen in only 17 days. “I’ve done this before, but never in such a short amount of time,” Bennett said.

- Visitors to the Las Vegas Strip may soon notice cleaner sidewalks, less litter and an overall tidier resort corridor after Clark County unanimously approved an amendment Tuesday morning to increase overnight cleanups along Las Vegas Boulevard.
Under the previous contract, with Smart Cleaning Solutions, LLC cleanup crews primarily worked during holidays and on Friday and Saturday nights. With the newly approved amendment, cleaning services will now take place every night of the week.
Clark County Commission Chair Michael Naft, who was behind the change, says the expanded cleanup schedule is aimed at maintaining the resort corridors reputation.

- A suspect is dead after a police shooting in the southeast Las Vegas valley Tuesday morning, authorities said.
The incident happened in the 5100 block of Boulder Highway, near Nellis Boulevard, Capt. Brandon Oris with Las Vegas Metropolitan Police said.
LVMPD dispatch got a call around 6 a.m. about numerous people involved in a fight inside a business, Oris said. He did not say which business, but multiple emergency vehicles could be seen outside the Walmart.
As an officer arrived, he heard what he believed to be a gunshot and saw a person with a gun exiting the business.
