President Donald Trump said the situation involving Iran is “very much under control” as the U.S. continues negotiations and military pressure in the region.
Speaking on the ongoing tensions, Trump described a strong naval presence enforcing what he called an “unbelievable” blockade, adding that “nobody goes through,” particularly when referring to Iran. He suggested Iran is facing significant pressure and indicated a deal could be reached, saying that if an agreement is not made soon, it may come shortly afterward.

Oregon high school boys volleyball is reaching the end of its first season, with the state tournament set for May 29th-30th.
Following two years as an emerging activity, the delegate assembly, which consists of individuals from each classification of the OSAA, saw the growth of the sport and knew it was time to make it a sanctioned sport.
"You have to meet a threshold number, and that threshold number was 50," assistant executive director for the OSAA Missy Smith said. "We got there pretty quickly, and then once it was ready to get voted in, we had the numbers, and then it went to the delegate assembly and the board."

Eugene Mayor Kaarin Knudsen joined officials with the PeaceHealth Bike Share program, Lane Transit District (LTD) and U.S. Rep. Val Hoyle to announce a push at the federal level aimed at helping fund micromobility programs.
Cascadia Bikeshare, which runs the PeaceHealth Bike Share program, said more than 100,000 rides have taken place since the program started. After expanding from 300 to 450 bikes, the program expects more than 300,000 rides this year.

The program, created in 1966 by President Lyndon B. Johnson, requires children to run and perform situps, pullups or pushups and a sit-and-reach test.

- As Oregon approaches the summer months, Governor Tina Kotek and other state agency leaders are preparing for a "potentially dangerous" fire year.
On Tuesday morning, Gov. Kotek joined the Oregon State Fire Marshal, the heads of departments like forestry and emergency management, to discuss the 2026 wildfire season.
The governor said while Oregon saw a relatively mild fire season last year, the outlook for 2026 is far more concerning.
“Oregon is currently facing severe drought conditions with nine counties already under emergency declarations,” said Kotek. “Oregon's 2025-2026 winter is tied with 1934 as the warmest on record, resulting in dangerously low snowpack.”
