King County Superior Court Judge Karen Donohue told 33-year-old Gregory Timm the shooting was a “completely senseless act.”
“It’s amazing that nobody else was hurt or that the scene did not become more chaotic than it was,” Donohue said during the hearing.
Timm declined to speak at sentencing. His attorney said he may appeal Timm’s convictions for second-degree assault and theft.

- Description
- Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Friday the U.S. war against Iran has delivered "rapid and decisive results" and is entering a new phase aimed at forcing Tehran to negotiate, as the war approaches the eight-week mark.
Speaking during a morning briefing, Hegseth said the operation, dubbed “Operation Epic Fury," has been “laser-focused” from the start, with "clear mission objectives," centered on ensuring Iran does not obtain a nuclear weapon.
“This is a bold and dangerous mission,” Hegseth said, calling it a “gift to the world,” and adding that Iran now faces “an important choice” to strike “a good deal, a wise deal.”
He described the U.S. naval blockade as "ironclad" and "growing and going global," saying ships linked to Iranian ports are being turned away or seized as pressure on Tehran intensifies. "Nothing in, nothing out," he said, adding that “every ship” meeting U.S. criteria has been turned around.

- Description
- Seattle Mariners starter Logan Gilbert can thank his jersey for stopping at least one earned run Wednesday.
With a runner on third in the first inning of the Mariners' 5-4 victory over the Athletics, Carlos Cortes belted a line drive at the Seattle right-hander and the ball somehow lodged in Gilbert's jersey.
Gilbert grabbed at his stomach and turned to locate the ball as Cortes made his way down the first-base line, only to find he, in fact, caught it—well, kind of—in his shirt.
Cortes was credited with a single as the play was considered dead, but Nick Kurtz remained at third base. Shea Langeliers advanced to second base.
Gilbert was aware of the rule that awarded Cortes first base, yet still considered himself lucky.

However, Superintendent Ben Shuldiner previously told KOMO News that school closures or consolidations would be considered for future academic years.

The executive director said he worries the schools' basic operations and student outcomes could suffer if funding is not caught up to traditional K-12 public schools.
