The timing is anything but accidental. Just days before Unitree becomes the first general-purpose robotics company to list on mainland China’s stock market, the Hangzhou-based startup is putting its hardware, and ambitions, on full display.
The company raised 6.1 billion yuan ($905M) in its IPO, which was reportedly more than 8,000× oversubscribed by retail investors, a record for Shanghai’s STAR Market.

- Flooded homes, damaged crops and falling prices are leaving Filipino farmers facing a double blow as heavy monsoon rains continue to batter the Philippines.
In Quezon City, 64-year-old grandmother Elia Jalota is staying in an evacuation centre after floodwaters submerged her home and kangkong patch.
Across the country, agricultural damage has already surpassed P1 billion (Dh60 million), including losses of around P313 million (Dh18.9 million) in vegetables.
Farmers are losing crops to floods while low buying prices and disrupted transport make it difficult to sell what they manage to harvest.
The farmers’ movement is calling for immediate government support to help affected communities recover, as more rain is forecast this week.

- Description
- Several multi-vehicle collisions caused by vehicles stopping on busy roads have prompted Abu Dhabi Police to issue a fresh warning to motorists, urging them to stay alert and avoid stopping in live traffic lanes unless absolutely necessary.
In a video shared by the Abu Dhabi Police, the first clip shows a vehicle slowing down in the rightmost lane, causing the two cars behind it to reduce speed as well. However, a fourth vehicle failed to notice that traffic had slowed and crashed into the car ahead, triggering a chain-reaction collision that pushed the vehicles into one another like dominoes.
The second clip shows a driver failing to notice a broken-down vehicle ahead, causing a multi-vehicle crash. As the occupants got out of one car, leaving its door open, another speeding vehicle slammed into it, sending the car flipping onto two other vehicles before it landed upside down on the road.
