In an excerpt from his new book Letters, HH Sheikh Mohammed reflected on the Gulf’s transformation from fishing ports and pearl diving to global cities, thriving economies and international trade hubs.
Addressing attempts to fuel divisions through social media, he stressed: “Our shared development journey and common economic interests unite us, and social media calculations will not divide us.”
He also clarified that unity does not mean erasing differences between Gulf nations.

Last edition, Moroccan humanitarian Fouzia Mahmoudi was recognised for her work with Operation Smile, which has performed more than 19,000 cleft surgeries for children.
But instead of awarding just one winner, Sheikh Hamdan announced three winners, each receiving Dh1 million.
