According to police, several suspects with guns robbed the convenience store at the 76 station on Northeast Broadway at about 4:45 a.m. Friday. During the robbery, another employee went into the convenience store, and a struggle ensued.

- Portland police say four teenagers from Seattle have been arrested following a violent gas station robbery that left a convenience store employee shot five times and seriously injured.
Investigators say the shooting at a Northeast Portland 76 station quickly led detectives to uncover a series of violent crimes allegedly involving the same group, including an armed carjacking, another gas station robbery, and multiple armed confrontations.
Portland Police credited the rapid response of patrol officers, detectives, and specialized units for identifying the suspects and making arrests less than 19 hours after the shooting.
As with all criminal cases, the charges are allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.

"All I can say is that, you know, we certainly hope these kids get the help that they need, because the activities that they were engaged in were causing incredible harm to the community."

- The city of Portland publicly shared the draft term sheet it sent to the Trail Blazers, including a $573 million funding contribution from the city, county, and state.
The 14-page legal document is titled “Moda Center – Arena Renovation and Post-Renovation Operations Term Sheet”. It also outlines the government’s request that the Blazers commit to a payment in lieu of taxes amounting to $3 million per year, escalating 5% annually over the life of the deal.
That clause – if agreed to – means the team would pay $106 million over the life of the lease; it would be split between the city, county, and Portland Public Schools.

- Portland police are searching for the person or people responsible after a 13-year-old boy was shot multiple times Wednesday night near Roosevelt High School in the St. Johns neighborhood.
First responders started trauma first aid at the scene, and the boy was rushed to the hospital by ambulance. Thankfully, police say they expect him to recover.
A teenager who witnessed the aftermath told KATU they were driving past Roosevelt High School when they saw the 13-year-old on the sidewalk, clutching his side and calling for help. He said he and his friends pulled over and called 911.
According to Portland Police Chief Bob Day, officers arrived quickly after the shooting was reported.
"I can tell you that we've looked at the dispatch logs, and our first officers were on scene in about six minutes, which is ideal for what we would consider a priority one call."

- A dangerous flood emergency turned deadly early this morning as rapidly rising water along the Guadalupe River prompted evacuations, water rescues and widespread road closures across Kerr County.
The Mayor Pro Tem of Kerrville confirmed one person has died as catastrophic flooding swept through the area. Officials have not released any information about the victim.
The confirmation came as emergency crews continued responding to numerous rescue calls and warned residents that life-threatening flooding was ongoing throughout the county.

- Flavored tobacco and nicotine sales bans in Oregon's two most populous counties are one step closer to taking effect after the Oregon Supreme Court declined to hear the latest legal challenge to Multnomah County's ordinance.
By declining to review the case, the state's highest court left an Oregon Court of Appeals' ruling in place, removing the final major legal hurdle for implementation after it had already upheld Washington County's nearly identical ordinance in May.
With the appeals process largely complete, the counties can now begin preparing retailers for the new restrictions before eventually enforcing the ordinances.

Forecasters urged residents to move to higher ground as rivers continued to rise.
Gov. Greg Abbott said there has been two lives lost so far as catastrophic flooding swept through the region, though he did not specify where or when the death occurred. Abbott added that more than 2,350 emergency personnel have been deployed to the response and have rescued well over 70 people.
One of the victims who lost their life was a male who had been swept away inside an RV, while the other victim was a female who was swept away while driving on the road, according to Gov. Abbott

Thunderstorms began developing around 3 a.m. near Salem and have been slowly moving northwest over the past couple of hours.
KATU News is tracking several fire calls and power outages attributed to lightning strikes.
According to PGE's Outage Map, about 5000 customers are without power. Most of the outages are in Washington County.
