The crash occurred in the 14700 block of the East Freeway. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Victoria Gonzalez was operating a black Chevrolet Cruze eastbound in the number three lane when her vehicle was possibly stopped or traveling at a slow rate of speed.
An unknown driver in a silver Chevrolet Silverado, also traveling eastbound in the same lane, failed to control speed and struck the rear of the Cruze.
The Silverado was later located approximately 0.4 miles from the crash site. The driver fled the scene on foot and has not been located.
Gonzalez was found with no signs of life at the scene at approximately 11:59 p.m. by Channelview Medic #12.

- HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A teen passenger was pronounced deceased after a crash involving two vehicles at an intersection in north Harris County.
The crash occurred around 5:55 p.m. at Richcrest and West Hardy Road. According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrived to find a BMW 550 and a Honda Accord that had collided in the intersection.
Investigators said the Honda Accord was traveling southbound on West Hardy Road, which has the right of way, while the BMW was traveling eastbound on Richcrest, where there is a stop sign. The BMW reportedly failed to stop and entered the intersection at a high rate of speed, where it was struck on the left side by the Honda.
The impact caused the BMW to spin, and a back left passenger who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle. That passenger, described as a teen male, was transported to a hospital with CPR in progress and was later pronounced deceased.

The shooting occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 3300 block of Antoine at the Scottish Inns and Suites.
According to police, one male described as being in his early 60s was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second male, described as being in his mid-30s, was shot in the rear end and left in a private vehicle to a hospital, where he is expected to be okay.
Police say the suspect was initially leaning against a hotel room door and refused to leave when confronted by an elderly man who had rented the room. Approximately five to six people gathered and attempted to get the suspect to leave the doorway.

The incident occurred around 8 p.m. in the 5900 block of Pinemont at the Patriot Forest Apartments.
According to the Houston Police Department, North Patrol officers responded to reports of a male shot in the lower leg. The victim was transported to a hospital and is expected to survive.
Police say the victim was walking along Pinemont in front of the apartment complex when a younger male approached from behind, assaulted him, took a pistol, and shot him with his own weapon.

The fire was reported around 7:40 p.m. at the Quail Creek Apartments located at 7835 Grow Lane.
The Houston Fire Department responded to reports of fire and smoke and arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a second-floor unit, with initial reports that someone may have been trapped. Firefighters entered in fire attack and rescue mode and conducted a primary search, but no victims were found inside and no injuries were reported.

- HARRIS COUNTY, TX – A driver led deputies on a high-speed chase lasting approximately 20 minutes after failing to stop during a traffic stop attempt near Spring Cypress and Highway 249.
The pursuit began around 10:23 p.m. and continued from Highway 249 to the 4100 block of State Highway 6, where the vehicle came to a stop.
According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, a male and female exited the vehicle and fled into nearby woods. A K-9 unit was deployed, and when the female saw the dog got a hold of the male suspect, she came out with her hands up and was detained.
The male suspect was bitten by the K-9 and transported by EMS to a hospital. He was taken into custody, while the female was later released.
